Does anyone bother defending their blinds in a stt early, or is it better for the stealers to think you are weak before you wake up and bring it to them, what level do you think it is right to start worrying about defending and stealing? why so? i usually do around 50-100 or 60-120

i defend from 75/150 and 50/100 as they start to get noticeable at this point. However, even at the lowest level I don't let my SB steal every time

no.

:p

okay, time for a real answer. Early on it's definitely not worth defending, people aren't really raising light in a STT-- or if they're a fish, they're not gonna fold to your 3-bet, and you're left playing a bloated pot out of position. it becomes "worth it" if the pot represents ~20% of your stack. You have to be certain that your opponent is on a steal though. Then you can re-raise all-in and not have to worry about playing out of position.

I wrote a more in-depth post about this in another thread, I'll see if I can link it... Collin Moshman talks about this in his book, if you don't already have it, it's a must-buy.

early, no reason to defend a blind, or try for a blind steel. Keep tight and wait tell blinds get high, and if the guy thats stole from start of the game till now, trys for it -now you resteel with an all in, and in one hand you've got all your blinds back. You have a tight image, hes meet no resistance from you=you must have AAces. Read Collins book for more on the subject, easy and quick read.

No reason to defend ur blinds early on. The game doesn't start till the 3rd blind level.
