My goal is to play more large field MTT's and make a deeper run than I've made before. I'm shooting for a 10x cash, say final 1% of the field or so. Need to stay focused, not get bored and get into flips early on. Then need a healthy dose of rungood.
This will be $1-2 Stars tourneys, so hopefully doable!
Currently 500/1527 left in the one I'm playing now, doubled up early with AA but haven't seen a playable hand in about 40 minutes. :\
Edit: oops I lost, got it in with the worst hand and failed to suck out. Oh well.

My goal is to win a $2 180 man SNG on PS this month. The best I've done so far is 4th....its tough because the $2 variety is turbo and thats not really well suited to my playstyle BUT i will not lose proper BR management

Yeah I've played a few turbos on Stars and I really don't like them too much. When the average M of the field gets to about 3 there's just not all that much skill involved. Pretty much robotic push/fold mode and hope you get some good cards that hold up. Maybe the 180's are better though, haven't tried those. I'd like to play some 180's but this is exactly why I haven't. Don't have the BR for the $4 non-turbos yet.

I can't disagree with any of your observations. What I will tell you is that the more you play them, the better you get at figuring out when the right time is to push/fold and what stack you need to get ITM. For the $2 that I'm playing in right now, you need an avg of 10K chips near the bubble to get yourself ITM and about 15k/20K to have a shot at making a big run at the end. It took me a number of times before I figured out those numbers...using avg chip stack didnt work too well because there's such an imbalance between the big stacks and those hanging around...at least that's what my experience showed me

Man...had a decent run in that Sunday 1/4mil just now. Busted out 780th or something, $85 payout or so. Played decently, missed a few steals that would have done me well, but Never really allowed myself to get short stacked. Lost in a cooler situation BvB of all things. I don't think I could have escaped:
I had ~100k chips with blinds 3.5k/7k. I get KTo in BB and folds to SB who limps with ~150k chips. I decided to shove and try to take it there, he was slowplaying AKo so it obviously didn't work. Would have flopped a King anyway and gotten it in if I'd played it more slowly, so seems I was destined to go busto there.
