I was in a freeroll on the stone bubble and got dealt KK in the SB. UTG open shoves and I have him covered by only 400 chips. I put him on AA KK or QQ at the worst AK. I was half tempted to fold into the money as I was 2 of 11 with 10 paid. It folded around to me and I went with it and he of course had AA and I bubbled it  .

Is this ever a fold? If I win the pot I'm chip leader by a mile and in a good spot to win the thing. I know its a call, but god does it hurt to bubble with a 2nd place stack on the bubble. just venting thanks.

The only time I fold KK pre would be some very certain scenarios. Freeroll, no never.

wsop Main event seat, 10 people left.. 9 get a seat, im sitting 2nd in chips and chip leader shoves?Yes, folding everytime, and aces as well.

Unlucky spot for you, thats all!

Yeah I have been in this situation in a freebuy with 20 people getting tickets into an mtt. I folded AA 2 off the bubble with top 20 getting a ticket.

It happens, just sucks when it does lol. Thanks for the reply

Hi, I think I would have done the same thing as you, but at another stage of the tournament, already one step away from the final table and the winning stalls, I never equate more than 2 big blinds, but it's good to know your experience, sorry it was bad.

Yeah it was tough to swallow at the time but I'm over it now. I know it was a plus EV shove and more time than not I will be ahead preflop. Just sucks when you are thinking to yourself prior to calling the shove that " Man I know he has AA, but KK is to strong to fold" to only see what your worst fears were, him flipping over AA and destroying your dreams lol. thanks

Improve your skills ... In the final stage, it's very easy to drop all cards and wait for the place where the game will remain without options - the KK card, and it's easy to beat 3,000 other hands. Good luck :)

I do not understand what you mean here. I assume this is through a translator but I'm not sure what you are saying.

Yea I think you have to call, given that it is a freeroll. If it was a $1000 tourney and the same scenario where your on the bubble maybe fold there because it's a lot of money risked, even then it would be a hard fold

I was in a freeroll on the stone bubble ....

Hy
the only Situation where to fold a monster hand is right before the bubble. Especially when U are 2 of 11. And UTG shoves. As U said U put him on AA KK QQ or AKs. So it´s gambling and not poker. What about pot size and value? If U do the Math´s U will see it won`t pay.
And I personally don´t like to go ai with a pair. It´s a speculative card and U only have 2 outs(plus 4 card flush)
And it´s always nice to play a final table, so maybe next time fold. sigh :(
No matter if it´s WSOP or freeroll

You are saying that you knew somehow that he has AA so that statement indicates that you had some reads for this opponent. You were 2nd/11 so you had ample space to play later on the tournament instead of a flip determine your tourney life. But ok all these are said after the end of the hand, we know the outcome! Easier said than done , right?

If you had something like AJs+ I would say that it is an easy fold.

It's a freeroll! Unless you have some prior information on the person and know their betting patterns, I'd probably snap call every time. Pocket Kings are just too strong.

When the blinds start really eating away at peoples stacks and their down to 10 BBs, any suited Ace/pocket pair people shove. How many BBs did you guys have left?

Just a really unlucky spot for you!

I would have called for sure. I've never folded KK. I feel your pain though. It sure hurts to get so close to the money and then miss out.

I my opinion I feel its a case of bad luck and timing. If someone shoves and if I had Kings, there is just no way I could possibly fold especially when you have a chance to be the dominant chip leader. Sad to say but there is no clear cut strategy in terms of getting away from that unless you clearly are very close to the money and will fold anything but Aces.

I am a type of player that wouldn't fold there either, but sitting 2nd/11 and with only one player for getting ITM, you might consider that. Even if he held an Ace-rag and he hit, that would be really bad too, right?

Yes it was neochen nice ... this happens rarely but it happens and it's always insulting that it happens to you ... to get KK to AA or QQ to KK, but it's cards and as they say shit happens)))

Ive been the stone cold bubble with KK and it almost feels worse, matter of fact it does feel worse because you either feel like you're suppose to win, or some one makes a bad call with A6 off, and of course since KK is an ace magnet, you know how the rest goes. Bubbling a freeroll might not change your life, but it still sucks because you've been playing for at least 3 hours or more. If im 2 of 11 im folding KK If im 8 9 or 10 of 11 then I go all in and live with whatever happens.
