Depends on how tight the players are. When people are raising and re raising like crazy, I think you are just throwing your money away with a c bet if you didn't hit the flop against multiple players.
A c-bet will fail more times when the c-bet is from an opponent who has been overly active.
I consider myself a tight player and that is the image I portray at the table, which enables my C-bets to mean something, even at times when I do C-bet with air I usually get folds, even in multi-way pots.
If you don't make a habit of C-betting regularly, you give up all the dead money in the pot.
You have to remember, your opponent will miss the board as many times as you, but if you don't C-bet, you will never know.
When you C-bet, you will have opponents folding more times than they call, enough that it makes c-betting worth it. You just have to know when to C-bet based on opponents.
Onto a question relating to C-bets: What % of the time should I C-bet the flop(I'm currently C-betting around 60%) and how much success should I have with the flop C-bet(currently around 46% success)?
