Do you think that while playing low connectors (45,67,78) have sense to limit yourself only to suited ones?
They looks better on first sight, but they really are?

The goal of playing low connectors is to take away all the money from your opponent (or at least a big amount of it) if you hit the straight. And if you got it you also know if you have nuts, so you can bet hard. ;)

In case of hitting flush with low connectors you don't know if somebody hasn't the best hand, so you must play carefully. The other thing is that nobody will risk too much money while seeing three cards of the same colour on the board. So even if you have the best hand you will not win too much.
But you easily can lose everything if someone have better flush.

So maybe it is better to play offsuited connectors only? :D

Low connectors are very speculative.

That's why most authors recommend that you only play them rarely, if at all, and only in late position. Even then you have to be careful. If I have 45 (which by the way I would never play) and the table has 678 somewhere on it, and someone shoves on the river, there's about a 90% chance he's playing 9T. I've seen it enough times to know this for a fact.

Or I if have 4h5h and there are three hearts on the table, and someone else shoves on the river, guess what? My flush is trash 90% of the time.

That case you can treat like not hitting a flop. But if there is A23, 236 or 367 then you can win a lot of chips. :)

Low suited connectors I think are the one group of hands that it's ok to limp into just to see the flop, kinda like low pair, you're just trying to see if you get luck on the flop. You gotta be careful betting too much like you might if you have JT suited or something like that because if you hit a pair its still probably not the best hand out there. Try to only really play low suited connectors in late position or from the BB if its only a check to stay in the hand, otherwise be cautious cause they can quickly turn into big loses if you're not careful.

True, it can happen, and certainly I've seen it happen more than once. But, more often than not you're going to hit one (low) pair, maybe two (low) pairs, a low OESD or a low gutshot. That's when a lot of people get into trouble.

Well, people have explained everything already. I would recommend to play low suited connectors only in freerolls and some other not very serious games in late position. :)

The problem with low suited connectors is at best it is a very average hand.
If you flop (and the odds are long) a flush, you are vulnerable to all kinds of things. Maybe someone has a higher flush, maybe someone has the Ace of that suite.

So you flop the flush and come out firing. The chance that the board pairs or the turn is another of that suite is relatively high. There are 8 left of that suite, and 9 cards to pair the board, so say probably 15 cards could hurt you.

In my opinion playing low suited connectors is a losing strategy

I open raise more easily the 89s hand than the 89 apparently because it has more equity , and with the same logic and with my poker knowledge so far seems more profitable to do so.

Furthermore I will 3 bet light for example the 78s than the 78. Poker is math and to have two suited connectors plays really well against the vast majority of the starting hands and it can be improved with the 5 community cards on the board.

If people at your table are playing tight then suited connectors are great unexpected hands.. Otherwise I just hold out for hands like pocket tens and AK..

You have a good point and you should always be careful but I think the chances of someone having a higher flush are not always that great.
If you have 2 cards of the same suit and there are 3 more on the board the chance of one player having 2 other cards of the same suit is around 2.5%(someone may want to confirm this).
Of course the chance is higher the more players there are or if there are 4 suited cards on the board.

Yes, but also you will not get too much money in that case, because everybody is carefull when see that opponent could have a flush.

I do not really like to play like this, they are marginal cards, I see them usable only with 12BB down, and mp2 up to the Big Small,
Is dangerous, play with them, you need to have a very safe image, you need to know with this level of the table, sometimes it feels good to feel the adrenaline in passing a bluff of this, or hit Hands

I rarely play low connectors. However, I will play K Q, from time to time, in a good position....

connectors stand good in pots agains strong pairs, but if flop is 3 way with a 3bet or 4bet action PRF on a bord with QKAs you low flush with 43s might be bad
