I am thinking of getting an account at SnGo grinders. I have been researching and this seems hands down the one to go for. I play low limit SnG normal, may start turbo soon. I dont multi table (yet) and have SnG wizard, my buy ins are all around 2-3$.
Any experience/tips would be appreciated.
I will also, probably next year, want to get back to more MTT so any sites good for this would also be welcome.

thanks

I wasn't that crazy about sng grinders when I was a member there for 3 months. For sng's I prefer CardRunners - you have Collin Moshman and some other good sng coaches there. DragtheBar has some good sng videos as well and I think they plan on expanding there soon.

Thanks for this Debi, I will give the sites you name a look. I was googling, and its hard to know what is a hidden sponsored site, and what is objectively reviewed. (for me anyway...)

If you're playing enough on FTP (like 1300+ FTPs a month) then signing up for the truly free poker training with CR is worth it. The 1300+ FTP will get you a week of CR videos for no cost to you and then you can check out the site, play more, earn more $$ and FTP and then eventually get CR for free. :)

? The cheapest I can see available is one month for 20,000, or booster ones.

I'll give you the same advice I gave you when you bought a HUD. You don't need it to beat the stakes you're playing, and the information you need to beat the stakes you're playing is freely available on the internet.

From what I have read here and the stakes you are playing I would echo this advice, you will struggle to find enough strategy videos at those levels to make paying for the site worth it.

For future reference I have been a member of a few sites; cardrunners, pwnage and pokersavvyplus. Of these I would probably suggest cardrunners being the way to go now especially with the addition of mement mori for tournaments.

hope this helps :)

Most sites offer 7 day free trials. You might try DTB, I'm liking them so far, but granted I haven't delved deep into their SnG stuff. I really liked the Stox content while it was around, but don't particularly care for CR. Their site, forums, and content aside from some of the Stox stuff that was brought over just didn't appeal to me as much.

I'll give you the same advice I gave you when you bought a HUD. You don't need it to beat the stakes you're playing, and the information you need to beat the stakes you're playing is freely available on the internet.

Hmmm, I agree to a point. A HUD in a typical low-stakes STT SnG is hardly necessary, but I think if used properly it would still be helpful. You can readily see those stats that do converge quickly, and if you're a reg at those stakes you probably play against several other regs over time. If you can afford the HUD, and more importantly the tracking tools that come along with it and give you the ability to analyze your play (which is beneficial at any level, IMO), then I have to land on the side of it being beneficial, if not necessary.

But I'm surprised to see people suggesting that the coaching from paid sites isn't helpful at the micros. Granted, good micro coaching isn't easy to find and maybe the ROI won't be there for the lowest levels since many may not clear $30/mo to pay for it, but I think watching any respected coach or player working through hands and decisions as close to your stakes as possible is still helpful on some level, regardless of the stakes. If you can afford it, it's generally a safer bet than relying on free content found randomly on the web.

The problem with the freely available content that isn't vetted through a site (like it would be here at CC for instance) is essentially that you get what you pay for, and run the risk of getting some bad advice. Just digging for videos on YouTube, for instance, can seriously send you in the wrong direction -- you could run into the next Jason Ho, lol. If you're going to look for free vids and tutoring, do it through a forum like CC where feedback will be apparent, or where those making it are known and respected members.

I do agree though that if you actively participate here in the strategy forums, post HH's for analysis, and ask questions, you can learn what you need to know to hold your own, if not beat the micros.

You're looking in the FT store, that's something different. CR (and Stox when they were around) have a deal with FT called Truly free poker Training which gives you monthly subscriptions, although I'm not sure where that 1300 point figure comes from -- CR is 5500 points/month, while Stox was 3000 or 3500 IIRC.

They'll prorate your subscription from TPFT also, so you can get like a week for free is you get 5500/4 = 1375 FTP's in a month, etc.

Does this affect your rakeback? I've heard that using any FTP points will affect your rakeback. And using 1300+ nite hurt a little.

I was looking at truly free poker training today and wouldn't mind taking up this offer to use cardrunners.

No, it does not affect MGR. All of those questions are answered in the TFPT FAQ.

Thanks dmorris68. I never looked at the FAQ as I was in a bit of a rush to check out the whole package.

I think I can make 1300+ a month FT points.

dmorris is correct.

All you have to do is EARN 1375 FTP pts for a 1 week subscription to CR. The 1300+ I mentioned earlier was because I was too lazy to do the math on it. It's 5500 for a full month and they give partial credit in one week increments, so for every 1375 you get a week.

You get to keep the points and spend them however you wish.

If you do only get a 1 week subscription I'd highly recommend downloading the videos that you wish to see and then unlocking them on the last day (or day before) your subscription ends, even if you don't have time to watch them. They remain "unlocked" for 14 days after you initially unlock them so in reality you can squeeze an extra 2 weeks out of that one week sub.

Hope that makes sense and helps anyone that's interested.

just basic video,s with no follow up

pokertriks or even youtube has some video tutorials and discussions available and then post in the forums as you do and you have got yourself a training regime,if the initial question comes from affording the fees or ROI point of view.I personally have not invested in pokertrackers and the like due to $ and the fact I am not commited or motivated enough to be a grinder,so free videos are perfect for me ,each to their own.
