When playing in MTT's i find that constantly checking the stack size of the leader average stack size or low stack can do you no good. This information can be very misleading and even detrimental to how you are playing. It may make you think you need to be more aggresive or time to slow down based on your stack size stick with the stragedy that you started the tourney with and focus on makin it to your ultimate goal which is making the $$$$$. Please share your thoughts and i appreciate any feedback of other stragedies you may have.

I don't check the three you mentioned, but I glance at the leaderboard. But that's because I like seeing my name all the way up there in 1st with a 4:1 lead over 2nd place.

You should only be focusing on your table and the average stack size of the table. Its ok to look at people left when near the bubble because a lot of people start playing tight in these stages which you can exploit easily and steal blinds and antes.

I think it too, I think that you have just to focus on your table and your game and not let other things make you take your
decisions.

So, you like to pay attention to unnecessary things?

As others mentioned don't focus about anything other than the stack on your own table :)

I focus mainly on my table except when approaching the bubble I like to see if there are many smaller stacks on the other table(s). Early tournament, in my live tourneys, stacks are deep enough for most players that detailed stack sizes is not as significant most of the time, but not always.

Mid and late tourney I pretty much want to be aware of each stack size and relative position to me. Stack size, among other factors, of both me and the others affects my play or fold decision and my bet sizing.

The only stack sizes that matter are the ones at your table.

Needed to clarify, I added the underlied part.

Near the bubble I like to know how many really short stacks there are so I can be aware if the bubble will more likely pop on another table.
