The last few times I've check raised I've had a great hand and I did it to get another bet out of my opponent but didn't necessarily want to give a free card. It is such a powerful move I find most people fold to the check raise. That got me thinking about using it as a bluff. Love to hear what people think about this.

Check raise as a bluff has to be done on the correct boards I feel.. If a flush or straight comes in or of u think they have a big pair and a second 10 comes of. I'm no expert or anything but these r the times wen a check raise bluff works for me plus its player dependant make sure u have notes on the players that just don't fold. Obviously no point In trying this move on them. Gl

It is a bit risky and does not always work less like a bluff but if you know how to apply it, it gives you very good results and you can also give a free letter that is your nightmare afterwards.

I like it as a bluff but must be used sparingly and only in the right spots. If your are playing with a tag group then giv er

you must be very careful because if you do it by bluff and it turns out that the other player if you have a good hand you will fail and big, then you must read your opponents well and be very sure that they will fall into your trap

Think this works best vs certain villans:
1. high % cbetters
2. donk betters
3. flop stabbers

usually used when you have a very strong hand, this shows a lot of strength, is if you take that into account, yes use to bluff can be a great way to get many chips, you just have to apply against who if you pick up players solid, safe, if they pay very well think before giving a call of it, or go all in.

I check raise bluff most c-bets. Free money. Sometimes I call all in re steals with ace high in hold em as ace high is a hand in hold em.

The check raise bluff allows you to take position away from opponent and steals more pots than a raise because it illicits a history of fear of the check raise. Just don't check raise bluff then show me or youll tilt me hard.

If you have good information from your opponents and can use check raise with no major risks against them, it will be a major breakthrough in your game.

You absolutely should use that bet as a bluff but you'll also need to bet your strongest hands in that range as well to give yourself a good balance. Any type of bet needs to have a strong range and bluff range. Usually at about 60-90% bluffs in that range. It all depends on your table image and the players at you table.

I like to use the check raise the same way. A check raise is a good way to put the other player to the test. Most players seem to just call bets way to often.

Works best when you smell weakness, great when villain follows a recognisable pattern that tells you he is not value betting. But as others say, use as a polarised strategy, also check-raise your monsters so you don't always have to fold when villain shoves. I try to use it as a semi-bluff to make sure I have some nut outs in case villain calls - especially on micro stakes.

i wouldn't use it with any regularity but i've used it before when i couldn't decide what bet size to do when i want my opponant to think i completely missed the turn. i still want to have a decent hand or at least a very good draw to do it since i want to at least have to consider calling a reraise all in.

If I get a read that I think another player that bet was weak, sometimes I'll rebet to take it down right then and there. I usually raise 3 times the last bet to do this. Min raising when making a check raise will make the other player too tempted to call or better yet put you all in, so I definitely don't want that if I'm bluffing.

I try to apply more check-raises in my poker game, both for value and for bluffing at the beginning of the tournament, it's easier

not all players have the same type of game, sometimes check / raise can be a trap

You should be check raise bluffing. You should be using the information you have of the players and of the hand.
