With the Cashouts, you can Cash Out of the tournament any time you would like, for the amount that your percentage of chips is worth.

So lets say there are 100 people in a $1 tourney and everyone starts out with 1500 chips... you could legitimately cash out right at the beginning of the tournament for your $1 back, or you could wait and accumulate your chips.

Now after accumulating chips you build your stack to 15000 chips, if you cashed out right now, and everyone was still in the tournament(probably not going to happen, but easier to explain), you would get 10% of the prize pool($10).

Now, is it better to cash out or go for the win? You just need to look at the payout structure, but depending on how much you accumulate chips, it can be a much better idea to cash out.

Hope that helps!

I knew they had these but I have never played in one. Maybe I'll play in one tonight.

Personal preference imo. I don't see when I would unless I'm tied and just exchanging chips back and forth for a long period of time. Or if I suddenly had to leave for awhile and wouldn't be able to continue playing.

Absolutehamm I'm almost certain the entry fee is split into two one for people who might cash out and one for payments 9/90 SnG persay? So if the buyin were a $1 you would get 50c for your starting stack...

Yes, absoluthammis mistaken about the prize structure.

In a $5.50 game $.50 goes to rake, $2.50 goes to the knock out pool, and $2.50 goes to the regular payout pool.

So if you start with 3,000 chips you can immediately cash those out for $2.50 and leave the game. (300 chips is worth $.25)

If you have 20,000 chips you can cash out 6,600 to get your $5.50 back and keep the remaining 13,400 to play with.

Some of us played some Cashout games together, and we discussed it a bit in that thread.

At the end of the tournament (final table I think) the $ from the cashout pool gets dumped into the prize pool. So suddenly the payout for the top places jumps way up.

its a cashout tourney...their new this year on fulltilt. Instead of trying to make a run to the final table ..you can quit the tournament and cash out your chips for money

Cashing out under the conditions offered in those tournaments is massively -EV. On the other hand, playing those tournaments is massively +EV if a lot of people decide that cashing out is good for them.

The bottom line, though, is that if you're looking for a game where you can stop playing at the time of your choice without the need to wait for the tournament to end, you should play the cash tables, not any kind of MTT.

Oops. Well I got part of it right. I was posting from my cell phone on the train so I didn't really have the conditions to go check it out ;). Glad it got sorted out though, thanks SP.

Savage Penguin is right about most of it except it is the Cash Out pool not Knock Out, and when it hits final table the cash out pool does not get put into the regular prize pool. Instead when it hits final table the cash out pool gets split up between the remaining players as if they had all cashed out. So taking a nice big chip lead into the final table will get you some decent cash even if you go out first on the final table.

I haven't tried many of these tournaments but they appear to add another twist to it and could prove invaluable to working your way out if you need to go.
