I played a game today that I had never tried.

It was a "cashout" tourney where they split the buy in between the conventional payouts (27 players in this game) and the cashouts. Any time you want to you can cash out your entire stack or a portion of it.

I didn't think much about strategy until I noticed that almost no one was taking advantage of the cashout pot. As i approached the final table I took $5 on 2 occasions because the reduction in chips by 6600 didn't effect my stack enough to make a difference.

One thing I almost screwed up on was going all in 1 player away from the final table, luckily I won but I was unaware that what ever was left in the cashout pot was distributed to EVERYONE at the final table! (I got like $47 or something). I finished in 7th place, received the $15 FOR 7th, the $47 final cashout, and the extra $10 for cashing out earlier (somehow it totaled $73.59).

I hadn't seen any mention of these games and thought I'd post this to see what folks think about them in general and my game if you have a tip.

I tired that one time and did pretty good. However, you need to set some time aside to play. It's a fun change of a different game.

I like them. Wish the had them more often. I only play the $2.20 or the $5.50. Never made the final table. usually do well enough to cash out entry fee.

What site do you play this game on? I have never heard of it and it sounds like fun.

They are fun, at full tilt, and I usually play until I can cashout enough to guarantee a small profit while maintaining 40-50 blinds.

Ive tried it out as well, without any luck. Kind of a heavy final table bubble in those game, so if you play them you should try to get to the final table.
I think it would be ok to cash out some of your stack, but I wouldnt cash out too much in those tourneys. Cause when you do everyones chips become more valueable.

it's found to play for me and people really don't think much of cashin' out which i thought it was stupid, one time,i saw a massive chip lead (80%) whom could just cash all the money out before the finally table which would more than the first prize and the cashout money from the final table ....

I've never tried these tournaments.

They sound awesome though, so maybe I'll give them a shot in the future.

im not to good at those i think i worry to much about hte cash out and not enoug about the actual tournament, you have to have the chips to cash out before thinking of cashing out.
