Cash game player jumping into some sit n gos

Any tips out there regarding the different formats? Below are some hands I played. The first hand is pretty standard in a cash game..just raise and go to flop. However in a sng I figured its best to just take the equity. Is that correct thought?

Second hand. A bit more unorthadox but should I even be playing these types of hands in sng or just fold? keep in mind these are all the micro of stakes tournamets. $1.50

In the first case, the reaction may be correct, but hard all-in just spooked him, of course maybe with the TT hand was a very good chance, but depends on the player, the short stack + at least one match from him on the flop, he might all-in to go. Here I think a lot depends on the feelings of the game, if you think you can lose, it is better not to engage in slow play, and then your strategy is absolutely correct. In the second case, your opponent was low PFR, respectively, your rate could be only as a protective or test. There is a big question, and you did if you twisted a simple raise? Would you fold? All data about this player, because it would mean that he had the stronger hand. I think that in the second case you did everything right. With respect! Good luck!

In a short-handed game, premium hands becomes a lot more valuable than expected. You had 21bb at the start of the hand, CO has only 6bb, and he limps in front of you. My play here would have been a standard raise, I don't want people to fold pre-flop, I want to capitalize on such a premium hand. I would have raised and played post-flop. That said, I would have played small pairs the way you played it, anything below 77s.

Yeah, not a good open. In cash game, may be, it would have been a good open. But this early in a STT, MTT, you'll have to protect your stack. Given your positional disadvantage, it would be much wiser to let this one go.

Any quick tips or recommendations are useful. Thank you
Tips:
  • Understand the difference between a cash game and a SnG. The basic difference is that in a SnG, you want to outlast your opponents, i.e. beat the opponents.
  • Have a plan for the whole game, i.e. how you're going to win it, rather than how you're going to win a particular hand (which is what you do in a cash game).
  • Check your ranges. Many a hand that might be okay in cash game, just goes out of the window in a SnG. This comes from the fact that even if your hands might win sometimes, it will keep adding to your variance. And SnG variance will simply kill you, when it hits.
  • Read a SnG book, Collin Moshman SnG book is a good one to start.(Collin Moshman Sit 'n Go Strategy)
