well after all the grinding i did last week, for most of this week i've mainly stuck to free chips and freerolls so that I could spazz out without hurting my underfunded bankroll.
I've peeled off 4 step 3 wins since monday. Here's my thoughts
step one....play tight with a high aggression factor. Once you get a nice healthy stack just start leaning on table. if you get down to 4-5 handed and you have more than half the chips on the table, start raising and shoving every single hand. Do not allow the short stacks any cheap flops. It really doesnt matter what your cards are. even if you double them up, they are still under double stack. Mainly have fun. Remember, you didn't pay for any of the chips in front of you. If you have AA early on. Just ship it. you'll get one curious donk with K3 offsuit lol/ Real;ly just have fun. I shoved 38 times in a row in one of these. It was so much fun. Often times I found that some players strategy is to enter the tournament and sit out and hope everyone knocks everyone else out so they can advance
step 2. Take this step a little more serious but really play your strong
hands very fast. No one is folding preflop with 2 suited broadway cards or pocket pair. Pound them into the ground. Keep in mind, 3rd gets you re entry into step 2.
Step 3 I would play this as a normal sng. Obviously you want to come in 1st but you really don't want to do any worse than 2nd. tight aggressive early on. once blinds hit 50/100, start opening your game up. No one is folding preflop to a 30 chip raise. They won't fold to a 200chip raise when blinds are 5/10. They won't fold. AA/KK/AK, shove it.they will call. Same tactics apply in the mid way through. Lean on short stacks. Attack blinds. Most of the players at this level are very passive. if the board looks scary, bet it. If you find this difficult, simply click the button the turns your cards face down. That way you don't have to see that you bluffed them with nothing.
Most important thing is just to have fun.
