Can't finish tournament. Shove or sitout

So today in the freeroll on acr it was down to around 70 left I think and I was in 16-20th place. My wife decided we should go to toys r us and use that gift card (today is last day you can use) so I figure not worth arguing so I wonder would you just start shoving trying to double and be able to cash for sure or just sit out and hope to min cash?

If you have to leave the game I think shoving to try to increase your odds of coasting ITM is a fine plan.

I think shoving your wife out the door tell her to get the bus if she depending on lift from you to toy store stay in house and concentrate on your A game on poker table would have been the better EV move just joking man

I think it depends how far from the money you are. If you think you'll make it without shoving, just leave it. Otherwise ship it in and hope for the best!

at that position you wouldn't have made it into the money so it was best to shove. If you were top 10 out of 70 you could've taken a chance and sat out. Sometimes you get lucky and get home before you blinded out and can maybe carry on playing.

Sorry for not giving you a quality answer, I dont even know your stack compared to others and what the blinds are but how many times that scenario happens is ridiculous. Download poker site on your mobile and hope toy store have free wifi

Lol. Since it was only the $100 freewill and we are talking $1.10 min cash I thought best to keep wife happy and not create a poker based problem. As my time playing poker has been issue in past

Well I called a small stacks all in with a weak flush draw so left in even worse position but ended up finishing 31st. 4 from money. Kinda wish I would of left before that to see if the extra 2k in my stack woulda made difference

I did give my position . I guess I didn't make it clear it was the cc acr freeroll so 27 is itm. And correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think acr or bcp has a mobile App

I would try to push for five minutes twice, and went to the store -)))

Shove without purpose

When I decide to do this generally I win and I have no idea how I won with marginal cards.When we shove without fear and purpose we win.Why does this happens?It's incredible isn't it?

ACR freerolls pays about last 18, so you where close to get Minimum pay, but as the game progresses the Blinds go up so If you dont play, I gues you will not get on the final 18.

Freerolls are 99% like that. The CC freeroll is the closest thing I found to a real MTT. And the 888 first depositor tourney.

I have been in this situation many times before. My general advise is don't let poker get in the way of your real life there is always another tourney tomorrow.


You did not specifiy speed of tourney, table size and how many entrants. My general rule for 100- 200 entrants normaly speed, 9 handed MTT is to take the number of entrants left minus the number of places paid multipy this figure by 1.5 and then subrtact it from number of entrants left. This will give me roughly a safe position you can cash from.


So in you case 70-27= 43 then 43*1.5=65 then 70-65= 5. So need to be in roughly 5th position to cash. So you will not make ITM from 16th -20th place. What I would do is shove almost every hand unitl I bust or get close to 5th.


Note 1.5 multiplier I used will change depending on the factors - Speed of tourney, Max table size, number of entrants.


ACR does not support MTT on mobile right now only Jackpot sng.

I would continue to play on the mobile phone and let her drive the car. Or let her to play until we get to the store. Lol.

my wife had a problem with me playing too. we have been divorced for 15 years now and im still playing,

Do the math on how big of a stack you need when the bubble burst and shove until you double that amount then sit out
