Hi guys,

If you are in a big field MTT in late stage. Let s say last 12 people, having 12 BB being last. You are in the BB with A2o or A3o and SB, with 50BB shoves. Taking into consideration that he shoves a very wide range (60-70%), maybe more, you are 50 to 53% favorite and it's a +EV call, but still you are flipping your life tournament.

You could take into consideration folding here???

You will remain with 11BB, having some fold equity for the next rounds.

I've noticed that even loose players tighten up when they get that close to the big payouts. If I'm way behind everyone else with my 12 BB, I'd consider making the call. If he's playing A9 or better though the odds are 2:1 (67.6% : 32.4%) in his favour. They're even worse if he's got a low pair such as 44 (69.7% : 30.3%)

I'd much rather be the one doing the shove from the btn or the SB.

I would call, and i think we should. We are ahead on his shoving range, and there's some dead money already in the pot.
It would suck to bust out in 12th here, missing the final table, but with us being the shortstack i think we have to take this spot and pray for the best. I think i would be calling here correctly chip-ev and not take any ICM or pay jump in consideration, so ill be calling with even weaker hands. Though, if its a recreational player i'd call a bit tighter unless he have been aggresive, but even then i'd call with any ace.

With villain shoving that often I'm inclined to call, there's a good possibility that they will have no Ace and no pair which leaves you with around 60% equity. Even more so if everybody's been folding to the SB a lot and they've been shoving every single time, there's no way they're always going to have premium hands.

I've been on the opposite side of the coin as well, where I've mercilessly bullied a short-stacked BB when I have a big stack in the SB and it's folded around to me, especially close to the bubble when they're just trying to hang on for the money. Anything goes, even crap like 52o.

SB is being a bully here and is going to be shoving wide a lot of the time and I will definitely be calling with any ace here with 12bb.

Easy call imo.

As you can realise I was in this situation and, of course I called. And lost against KTo. I was analyzing my hands and I was asking myself if I should have waited. Also from my experience I ve learned that A2 and A3o are not great cards gor calling. They are good only to 3bet them in position or 3bet a late position raiser, from the blinds. Buy anyway if we play mathematically, the call was correct.
