calling range - tilting maniac

I won the first hand when my AKo hit an A on the flop and I'd made the villain pay for his draw, which never came. My stack is t2200.

For the next 6 hands the villain open shoves his t800 and picks up blinds and a few folded raises to get his stack up to t1000

What's our calling range from MP when villain shoves from UTG?

really tight. many people left to act, and the more he continues to shove, the more likely it becomes that he actually wakes up with a hand.

I would say pretty tight too, the more he is shoving the more chances others at the table might jump in as well. You want to make sure when you make the call that you are busting the maniac tilter out and not doubling them up.

I don't think you really have "calling" range here since you are MP the move would be to get a re raise or a shove of your own in to discourage others for coming along for the ride.

Or am I way off base here?

My usual strategy in this situation is to lay low and let someone else take the dude on - with t2300 I don't need to get involved in anything. But more recently I have started to loosen up a bit early doors. The thinking is that when there are 4 or 5 people left I am often making a life call with AJs so why not give it a go here?

For the record I shoved AJs, the maniac had Q8s and he got the flush.
