Last night I was in the big .3.30 6max and was running ok I was in positions 20th-30th for most of the tournament there were 440 entries and late reg was still open for another 20mins. Anyway I had 1010 and some 1 had 3bet so I flat called and flop came 10.8.2. I'm putting them on a pair or AK AQ AJ. They lead out with a bet and I call next card is 7 they lead again and I call and river is a 6 and they shove I'm thinking they must have a set but I have top set and the board isn't paired and there is no flush draws so I call and they have A9. And take most of my chips with the straight. My question is do u think it is better to call ppl down if u think u have the best hand or just raise it up and take the pot down? Obviously I should of raised it up this time but how oftenice are they going to get 4 parts of a straight wen u have a set?? Plus wen he started leading out on that board I also thot he might have AA KK or QQ so I was beating everything in his range I thot he was on.
To 3bet A9 isn't advisable coz if a Ace comes there is a good chance if u get called some1 will have a stronger ace. Typical of micro stakes tournaments! !
What do yous think call down or raise it up for long run strategy? ?

Because you’re ahead of so much of his range (practically all of his reasonable range except for possibly 99), it would be +EV long term to raise it up. A call here is just leaving money on the table. Tough beat there, but good luck in the future!

I raise it up simply because so many bad beats happen and still could happen even though you do raise however you give yourself two ways to win as your opponent could fold or win in showdown where as calling you must win in a showdown.

Your stacksizes and the size of the bets are very relevant here. When I flop top set on a board like this, I plan on how to get stacks in on the river. If he fires out a pot bet I will probably just call. If he bet like 10% of the pot on any street I will probably raise. On the flop I am more afraid of J 9, than anything else, but his range is obviously mutch bigger than that. I think this board is safe enough to slowplay against one opponent, espesially if you have position. On the river the board is bad. When he shoves, how big is the bet really? Is his all-inn bet 2x the pot or 20% of the pot. I might find a fold if the bet is big. Any read would be nice aswell.

Imho

With the bigger stack and the best hand, wouldn't raise be standard, why didn't you?
Biggest threat would be J9. And yes: fold at the river...but that's a mistake I make daily (asume they are bluffing).
