Been a valuable member to ftp for many years now and made quite remarkable amount of deposits and still to this day havent got anywhere...does any1 know this feeling?
For years ive been playing 25c/50c omaha high low and sometimes as 50c/1d. I usually deposit around $30 - $40 and if lose i try agian until i get to around $100 bankroll then i try play steady. However this alway seems to buildto a certain level b4 bang!! crash!! wollop!! and ther goes my bankroll.
Even cashing n 1st place in the daily dollar rebuy at $2800 november last year didnt help me. Is it because i withdrew $2000 of it for christmas that full tilt decide to pull the doomswitch on me, maybe? i will never know, hmm  .
Ive decided i have to start from the pitt of freerolls and try appreciate this level so i become a stronger minded guy.when it comes to bankroll management. Hopefully this will work out for me one day as they say patience always provails lol.

Has anyone here had my same experience and come out the other end with a positive bankroll. And if so can you give me a few poiters as to where i go wrong. I play alot of tournaments holdem nl and seem to do well but if i have 3 or 4 bad runs i decideto hit the cash tables to try recoporate my bankroll to its initial state b4 i started my losing streakon the tournament tables..

Please help me as i am a decent player, check my stats online in tournaments.. but i feel at the moment i will be stuck freerolling forever.

I need some advice on this

I hope it works out for you and some people here have built up from freerolls, private ones would be the best forum games or other of this type usally pay better.

Are you using proper Bankroll management? Moving down when you are not rolled for a level, do you play above what you can afford?

The sad truth is sometimes your best just to deposit but if your determined not too get used to some crazy play at a level that might not improve your game.

Been on the same boat, it takes one night to tilt all your money away, your best bet is to sleep it off and take it one day at a time, its all about profit, if you having a bad day and lost 20% of your bankroll, even 10%, stop and play the next day, refresh your mind, your goal for each night is to build and profit, even if its only $1, its a win, all it takes is a couple of big wins to put you back on track

yeh i been on the same boat, poker is like a small business that you have to respect and appreciate, if you treat it like that you should be fine, you wouldnt strat a small garage company and then try to take on lowes in a buyout competition of a company going out of business right down the road two months into your adventure would you

i mean i wouldnt play extremely low stakes youll just get bored but try to appreciate your money more, but if your cashing out 2000 i wouldnt worry much about it, your not going to be the next tom dwan and when you figure that out youll really start to look at poker a diffrent way...i did

I've built up my br from freerolls on FTP. My br is up a little over $140... It's really slow going because you have to follow brm extremely tightly. A couple thoughts.

#1: If you get a big win, kind of like your $2800 win in the dd rebuy, you should probably cash it out. You're just not ready to play the big games. Just because your bankroll can handle it doesn't mean you're ready to play at that level.

#2: If you don't feel like you're playing your A game either quit or play tiny sngs like the satty to the dd. You don't want to play a game that can take a hit on your br if you feel you aren't playing your A game. I.E. When tilting try to lose as little money as possible.

I don't know about tip #1,

though I have followed it in the past
(mainly so that I am playing on pure profit now rather than on money that, if lost, could put me back into negative ROI).

I've built a roll to 1000$ or more twice from 100$ or less, then withdrew most of it. But my goals would be to play in 11$-55$ games regularly. And when I withdraw the rolls I build, I'm working against my goal.

Is there anyone who advises rarely withdrawing winnings, so that if someone is a successful player they won't be stuck in micro games forever? :ridinghor

I've built my BR on freerolls. This needs a little luck and a lot of work, but it's worth it. It's fun going up the ladder and trying to boost your BR from nothing and you learn a lot. Been almost bust more times than I can remember. I've never withdrawn btw. But when I'll be at a point where I have steady winnings I probably will. I guess there's nothing wrong with withdrawing if you keep your bankroll healthy.

Yea i cash small in a bunch of freerolls, build a bankroll, and then BANG like you said...idk it all depends really how you manage your bankroll....i still have not made a deposit and im debating if i should...maye the style of play changes when you get away from freerolls and such but i doubt it changes that much! GL and if you say you been playing at fulltilt then you should be use to the ups and downs...but sometimes it does hurt a bit

Building a bankroll off of freerolls takes alot of luck and long hours, but nothing better than winning free money. It's good to look at freerolls as a big tournament with a bunch of little ones in it, your not gonna get lucky every time (which is what it takes to get to the middle stages of a freeroll) Don't know if you have read it yet but check out the Freeroll strategy section it really helped me a lot

Bank roll management is very important, I stay in my limit and play a lot of free rolls because I like winning free money. Tournaments are hard to win so dont expect a lot out of your self just dont give up! I started playing some ring games and that for me is good experience so I can learn to play that type of game but never risk a large chunck of my BR.

i had 29 cents left in my account and decided not to deposit again. i'm over 2k and hopefully going up although i've not really gone anywhere for months. my advice to you is to try to build up your playchips to over 10million and try playing the 500k playchip $40 freeroll on fulltilt. top 18 get paid and when i played only like 60 or so entered. i wouldnt enter this unless you will have atleast 10 million playchips left over. if you can do this hopefully you have learned and praticed good BRM and learned to be a winning player.

Try bankrollmanagement.
Dont play so big games like 50/100 omaha hilow if u dont have +20buy ins.
And building br with freerolls is just freaking tough, and it takes time :X

I think that if you cannot build your bankroll from freerols you cannot buid it from depositing .
The good players make money because players like you exist ,that do not have the patience and do no see that they play only to feed others.
The fun thing is that there are milions of ppl who deposit and other several thousands that cash out. If u do not think you will be ever in those several thousands u must to give up soon and try to make money some other way.

i have never made a deposit and i played freerolls and managed to build a bankroll of about 550$. Just play with good bankroll management and you can never go broke unless you haven't got a bankroll for 0.01/0.02. good luck in freerolls.

You're probably right. It may depend more on the person. It has just seemed in the past there are these people who win alot and then lose it all rather quickly because they play bigger stakes and get beat and then tilt and lose all $1000 they just got from a big win, or whatever.

freerolls are a great thing, not only are you rsiking nothing to win something but it is a great chance to play with no remorse on your shoulders and have a good chance for a learning oppurtunity. its a great confidence boost and a great way to build your bankroll without rsiky anything. literally

i have been playing alot of freerolls lately and i have found that it really helps not only on the bankroll for no fee at all but with the endurance fator of long tuornaments as well as many different and valuable situations in the game of poker
