The way that I did it, is playing in the super micro stakes cash games, play tight, as most people wont be, when you are double the buy in, switch tables.
Maximum of 1 table until you are at least 10 times the max buy in. Then 2 tables until about 50 times. At 100 times I'd move up.
Double up a few times and then you can start playing with a bigger stack if you want. When your br is what your brm strategy recommends for going up in stakes, move up.
Rinse and repeat.
: Do not take re-buys, only add-on if you have an average stack. Normally at the addon, if you are short stacked, the add-on may help, but you have more chance just doubling-up with your current stack. If you have a big stack, the extra couple of chips isnt going to make that much difference.
Cheap MTTs: When you have 50x the buy-in, you can start trying these, budget on 1 re-buy and 1 add-on, use if required. Stick to your budget, but also use the same thinking as with freerolls around re-buys and add-ons.
Stay away from sngs until you are at 50x the sng buy in. Play tight again at low stakes, as most people won't be. Try find those that pay 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
I increased my BR from 50 to 500 like this in 2 months. I also won 500 for best hand of the day (Flopped a royal flush ). So it hit 1000 in 2 months.
