Live $25 27 man donkament. Final table and on the money bubble, 6 players left.

Blinds 3000/6000 with 500 ante

Avg stack around 50+K, Hero starts hand with 21K.

Hero is in BB with J4o, folds to big stack in MP(80K+) who limps, folds to sb(50K) who completes. Hero has 14500 behind and doesn't expect folds from either player if he shoves and checks. Flop comes out A J 6 rainbow, 23K in the pot, sb checks, Hero ??????

Blinds going up to 4000/8000 after this hand. If hero folds he will be sb with 10k left after posting his blind and ante.

What's your play?

If this would be better off in the hands forum above could a mod please move it? Would love to hear some responses.

Shove!

I think I would take my chance right here, even with the Ace on the board. Chances are BigStack would have raised with an Ace. SB might have had one, but not wanted to play a big pot on bubble. There's always a risk when an Ace hits the board. We know a lot of players simply won't fold an Ace. But just because an Ace hits the board doesn't mean someone has one in their hand.

I'd take the chance. If blinds are going up next hand (presumably 4000/8000), you're going to be putting another 4k in the pot with who knows what. If you complete, you'll only have 6k behind. So you would be pretty much committed. If you folded the SB then you're left with 10k and have 5 hands to find something to shove with before you're back in the blinds again.

Option B is to try to fold your way into the money. I'm assuming, however, that you are the short stack (you didn't say), in which case, all the rest of the table has to do is wait you out. With an M value of just over 1 (don't know what ante is), they won't have to wait long. Again, I'd take the shot in the hopes of winning, as opposed to waiting for someone else to lose. If you were to get blinded off, or get your chips in another spot and lose, you're going to think back to this hand and wish you would have taken the shot. I'd go for it.

Gotta agree with Heat that Bigstack would've raised preflop with Ax. Hero has to shove while the shoving's good. The question is 'why would bigstack limp'? I would put him on a small pair, and as long as it's not 66......Hero may not get another chance and only gets weaker.

allin time based on the amount of your chips and with blinds getting higher you be forced to go allin with a worst hand

I was the short stack at the table at this point. SB in this hand should have been bubble boy but got lucky the hand before this where his 66 took down a pair of aces after getting all in pre and smashing a set on the flop. Antes remain 500 next blind level.

Anyways it sounds like shove was the right play here and that's what I did. Big stack shoved behind with A10 and made me bubble boy.

I can't believe big stack wouldn't raise A-10 there. But sometimes that's the type of unconventional play it takes to get paid off. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

Yeah when he made the all in motion "I was like wtf dude really?" Any good player with a big stack raises that spot preflop 100% of the time. Guess he busted in 4th or 5th and didn't even make top 3. Had the same thinking as you. Small pocket pair/sc type hand that wanted to see a cheap flop and figured it was my pot for the taking.

In this situation considering the limp I would commit with a shove.
