I was playing in the $25 Freeroll on BetOnline that only pays top 20 (out of like 600). At this point, there were 25 remaining and I was in like 8th place with about 36,000. Early position big stack (about 63,000) shoves and it gets folded all the way to me with Pocket Kings. After much deliberation, I fold knowing that'll practically be guaranteed a spot if I play cautiously (finished 13th). Did I make the right choice? Should I have called for a potential chance at taking the whole thing?

Do you have any hud stats for this player?

I would call it...

In freeroll this easy call because many players can shove with pair or Ax.. not only premium hands....

I actually do not use an HUD. Definitely would have been handy there. From what I noticed though, he would occassionally play aggressive pre flop. But since he would rarely get called, I did not really have any idea of his range.

That's very true. I just didn't want to run the risk of running into any kind of A in a situation where I didn't have to.

I also stick on the side call because with a big stack, we have more chances to get in the top 3 .. In freerolls prizes are good only in the top 3, It's worth it to risk in bubble..

Yeah I agree. I think a big factor for my decision was that I didn't have a bankroll at the time and I didn't know if I would go that deep again. I'd probably do differently now.

I think you HAVE to call with KK there. In BetOnline freerolls there are escalating payouts to freerolls. If the payout was the same for 1-20 or something like that, then maybe you can laydown KK. 20th probably nets you like 50 cents while 1st is like $5.

Yeah I recieved .75 for falling into the second to last tier. I guess since it was only my second night on there, I got really nervous thinking I might not go that deep again. But since I was able to a couple of nights later, I'll be more proactivd next time.

Always better to be the aggressor in this spot imo. could your opponent have aces? unlikely but possible. I prefer not to risk my tournament life preflop that late with over 15-20 bbs. If you feel your late stage play is strong enough and you are looking for min cash I would fold.
