Bubble buster

Guys im really frustrated today have been busting out by like 3 to 4 places all week usually high blinds ak to pocket pair or vice versa just keep losing that final coin toss to get itm. Ouch again 20 places paid finish 23rd 26th ect. Always with everyone having 10 to 20 bb and i shove with ak should i start folding ak on the bubble?

You need to look not only the number of chips that you have, but also the place that you occupy now and the number of chips from other applicants for ITM. If you have enough to make money when short leave the tournament - your risk of playing with AK may not be justified.

In any tournament you should strive for victory, always. Even if you get a bad blow at the bubble and leave the tournament with nothing today, tomorrow your AK will win, and you can not just get ITM, but get to the final table. Prizes at the final table are much larger than the mini-ITM, and this compensates for the flight on the bubble in the previous tournament. Just play it right, it pays off.

I dont think you should fold AK on bubble, in fact thats a point where you can increase your stack just because players tend to play tight at bubble. You were just unlucky bud, i know how it feels, when you find yourself in bad run like that you keep wondering whether there is something wrong you do, but in most of the cases there isn't really.

the whole problem of making a decision on a bubble is only how important it is for you to get into the minimum prize money or you have a desire to play at the final table and then the risk is simply necessary ...

Play the ak. Just got unlucky. It happens.

I agree with all of this. Many players lose a lot of equity by folding in to the money. I think you should always play for the win, as the "real" money are at the top.

AK is the most overated hand in hold'em it is behind every pocket pair it is not a top 5 hand.

Same thing again today. Enetered 3 mtts all pay the top 20. I literally finished in 30th , 31st , and 24th its almost like i believe im gonna bist right before the bubble and now i do . The mind is a powerful tool in poker when alot of times we are using judgment and rough calculations to make a move. I agree with always playing for first place not itm but it still hurts to get that close on like 8 out of the last 10 mtts i played.ill just try to regroup and try fresh tomorrow is a new day thats my favorite thing about poker i start fresh everyday!Btw i have mor than 25 posts how do i get the cardschat freeroll pw ?
