I'm new here, and I'm planning on depositing a couple of bucks in PS, let's say $100, can you guys give me a hint on what stakes that i can easily beat?

i mean, buy-ins that is suitable with my bankroll.

does $2.20 hotter is suitable in my bankroll? and other micro turbo? like sunday spark Saturday splash?

thank you for your kind reply :))))

100+ buy-ins for MTTs
50+ buy-ins for SNGs
30+ buy-ins for cash games

With your BR I would play no more than $1 MTTs or the $1.50 SNGs

Good luck

I think this is good advice. So playing $1.10 mtts and 2.20 sit and gos. I would recommend playing 5-8 hours a day at first and then playing more when you decide it feels appropriate. One thing, it is important to take breaks and stay fresh so every few hours grab some food, go for a walk, take a shower etc.

Do you prefer to play cash games over mtts?

I deposited 15$ to stars last night, and ran some zoom NL5 went good so far up a good amount of Bis, I should hit NL10 anyday maybe even tonight if things run good again.

But yea if cash try one or two tabling zoom micros. Very easily beatable, if your a seasoned poker player anyways.

Id add, find the type of game you enjoy and are good at
mtts are huge variance and tough to win- so 100 buyins may not last
cash tbls- start low 1-2,2-4 cent (2-4$ buyin)
sit n gos I enjoy- quick and good % paid, just not gonna get rich quick
find your game and stick with it, post back with any more questions, trouble hands etc.
gl to you

Here is an easy calculator that goes by the Chris "Jesus" Fergusson rules:

http://www.thepokerbank.com/tools/pokerbank/fergulator/

It is a free program and does the calculations for you using the 5% method (meaning you never risk more than 5% of your net worth at any give point of time). I have found this to be a very helpful tool... it will calculate for ring games, Single Table Tourney's, and MTT's.

Hope this helps out on your journey!

Something else though, which you don't mention, is why are you going to deposit and play? Is it for some recreation or are you aiming to make a bit of money to spend on something specific. Is it even that you are aiming to make a living at it?

If it's either the 2nd or 3rd, then you won't make much money, even playing 5 to 8 hours. Do you have a track record playing offline, and if so, at what stakes and with what success?

I've been reading Johnathon Little's volume 2 book, which has a superb section on going pro, making a living, the stakes you should be playing at (the 100BB, 50BB etc above is spot on). It also talks about how going pro should not risk your life, your commitments (family? Mortgage?) and talks about taking into account your outgoings and how fast you can assume your bank roll can grow.

It sounds very tempting and "easy" to play pro and make loads of money at something which isn't a real job. But playing full time is hard work, it is a real job, and 5 to 8 hours solid is mentally tiring. Don't for a second think it is easy!

Personally, I play for recreation as I love playing, and make some money on the side. I can win at higher stake SNG's but it takes such concentration I find its actually not worth it. Im now playing $15 SNGs as I can win without trying very hard, make some money, and enjoy it at the same time. I don't need to look at poker as a job, I've just started my own business with a partner which should make far more money than I ever will playing poker.
If your pretty good and focused you can make good money at poker, but it is a full time job!!!

Enjoy

what kind of an answer are you looking for here that you wouldn't have a better idea of than a stranger would on a forum? I mean I have no clue as to what your schedule in life is.. or what your experience playing poker is.
If you're new, you're probably not going to be winning at first and if you're thinking of playing for 8hrs. or something I would say it's crazy. Maybe it's not crazy? Maybe you'll enjoy yourself playing for 8hrs. per day (or more).
Only you can know this. (hence why I asked > What kind of an answer are you looking for here?)

I wouldn't follow this rules that strictly even tought there's alot of variance in mtt's you can skip the rule a little bit to an avg. bi of 2 let's say(If you're not new in poker)
