Ok so i was playing in a free roll the one at 1am. There were around 1500 entrants and we were down to 150 with the blinds at 200/400. It gets folded around to the small blind who limps, i check. We both have equal stacks of 5.5k. Flop comes J 10 7 rainbow. I am holding 10 7. He bets 400 i re raise to 1300. He shoves allin. I called he turned over 8 9 it held and won turn was a 6 river was a 6. What do you think of this? Would you have called?

Personally I wouldnt have reraised ,but the end result probably would have been the same, although not reraising might have allowed you to lose only the 400 , and then his next bet might not have been all-in which either would have cost you only another 400 or allowed to get away from the hand.

Yah you did the right thing. With your stack that was your only option I think.

i probably would have let that go to a reraise.... yeah bottom two is a strong hand... but all he needed was a J to win after the 6 6 runner cards ya know? Plus i dont see a player shoving all in on a draw on that flop, that late in the game... it had to be a strong hand. While you had a strong hand... u just walked into a bad situation. you can't win a tournament at that point, as you arnt even in the money yet... let it go.. and use your chips wisely in a later hand when you KNOW FOR SURE that you can not lose... I know it's hard to fold 2 pair, but discipline is the key to going far in tournaments. Better luck to you next time!

Personally on a flop such as this I would not have raised in the first place. One thing I have learned that in Poker any cards are possible at any time, and although statistics say he didnt have that 8 and 9, experience shows me the possibility was there. So with that possibility, I would have called his raise and saw what he did on the turn, and given that he would have most likely went all in due to zero possiblities before the river six of a better hand, I would have folded. Two pair although usually a great flop hand really has zero standing with an open sided straight draw. Sometimes we try to talk ourselves into believing the odds are to great for him to have that 8 and 9, but we are lying to ourselves. I am a very passive player, but am successful in being so, it seems anytime I'm knocked out of tourneys is during hands like this when I get too confident.

yep absolutely you did the right thing. with the stakes rising and 150 players left, he was showing signs of bullying your blind. most often then not that player would be holding a flop card. at some point you have to go for it since your current chip stack had to be low compared to the others still alive in the tournament.
