Harrington on Holdem by Dan Harrington; 3 part series

Secrets of Professional Tournament Poker by Jonathan Little; 3 part series

Those will give you a really good base, and slightly different points of view. And that is 6 books right there, so it will keep you busy for quite a while!

Those listed by Jacki are good books!
Also you might try the series by Phil Gordon, and Kill Everyone/ Kill Phil

You will lose at most attempts, playing exceptionally well. and you might win a few times playing like a crazy madman taking flips and pushing all in frequently.

You will lose hours of your life for sometimes very marginal profits, and fall short very close to big money.
If you do get justice it can be very rewarding. but in reality you have to be prepared for coolers and sick variance, and awful play being rewarded.

Adventually your big pair will be cracked or your AK will get Spiked by AQ . (expect this in most games)

and just deal with it. you can't let it effect your game.

Smaller mtt's 45 man, 180 man that's different

Do you think that reading books and watching some tutorials will gonna make you a good player? I never read a book about poker playing..just learn it on the way..playing many many hands..the thing that matters I think.. it s where you gonna play..because there are a few difference between poker sites..I had a period playin on PS and after that I moved to FTP.. and honestly.. on the second one things seem a little easier..

Many of the books mentioned here are good, but way outdated. The game has changed a lot, so I would find some modern books if I was you.

Books and tutorials alone cannot make you a good player. You also need practice, you need to see a lot of hands.

But simply playing a lot of hands won't make most people a hood player either. However you prefer, you need to find a way to think about hands from multiple perspectives... You need a way to get into the minds of other players, preferably good players. Books and tutorials are a simple way of doing that.

I am improving fast, which makes me angry are the bad bet on the river, it always happens in PS, when you're dominating the guy can hit on the river and you lose. I need to improve also bet on patience sometimes because I am a long time without playing, when I played in tournaments tight I got better results.
Thanks everyone for the tips.

Harrington on holdem is the best book IMO, of course no books or videos can take the place of actually playing and gaining experience! However this is a good book that can definitely improve anybodys game!

For the best videos, the Gripsed series on youtube is probably the best as far as videos. Its a free coaching youtube channel and has lots of quality content for all types of players, no matter the experience everybody can pick something up from watching these videos!

I'm about 1/3 of the way through reading Harrington on Modern tournament Poker and it's highly recommended. even if the next 2/3 of the book are just dirty limericks, I already got my money's worth out of the first 150 pages for sure (....and I do like dirty limericks)

so....just....read it!
