Hi all and Happy easter,

I recently got put out of a tournament because I just kept bluffing one player in a single hand until I was all-in and lost. I was doing very well but the chip leader then gobbled up all of my chips.

I broke 2 rules:
- do my best not to play against the chip leader
- when I know I'm beat, GET OUT!

It's like I was watching myself fail and didn't do anything about it. Has this happened to anyone else? I guess I really need to work on my discipline!

Been there done that, I used to have a horrible habit of calling a river bet even though I knew I was beat just to see and make sure. For the best part I've gotten rid of that habit but it does rear it's ugly head from time to time.

Agreed you see the flop and look down at your stack and think, its either a good or bad call #PotCommitted 😐 Q2 (2 pair) guy 2500 chips springs to mind on party, no slow play #trap just smashed it all in. Looked like a massive bully move.

That's why we love the game 👍

You need to know that you can not bluff every time. Did you think about that other player must have something sometime. You can bluff once or twice, but to bluff every time, it was obvious that you will lose. Sorry bro. Better luck next time

If you keep bluffing against the same person or if you just keep winning without showing then switch to value bets. Also don't bluff big stacks as they can afford to call and take risks

I actually did this in my highest tourney I've played. Guy called me down with pocket 4s even though there was an ace on flop which I was representing. I had KQs but he wouldn't give it up. Left me pretty crippled in the tourney. Was a $1050 that I won a seat into for $55

Without risk it is difficult to win. Although sometimes of course you should be able to stop in time

From time to time I see this bad habit in my game. I think, that it`s question of psychology.

Thanks for your comments. I'm going to take a day off. I agree with sergik1992 that it's completely psychological.

My biggest problem is that I can't stop bluffing.
When I make a raise and he calls. I will raise again on the river, altough i have nothing and he has something.

I think many of us trying to bluff with continuous betting from the flop to the river..If you see your cards are not good for bluffing on the flop wait until turn or some good card on the river and try to do it than

Yeah, it happens. I do it after firing 2 barrel and then thinking to myself it doesn't matter what comes on the river I'm getting called. Then the river comes and I shove and it doesn't work. You can see that your driving off a cliff and keep going with the thinnest hope that the road will materialize underneath you.

I bluff in tournaments towards the end and usually with high cards so I can hit with next cards..... I don't bluff often probably 5% of my bets are I raised before flop and high card shows on table or I have a pocket pair so I feel I may have the hand won for the moment.

bluff bluff

bluff is the toughest part of this game and only few player can manage to stay with their bluff trough the whole game and the whole tourtnaments. when you start bluffing it's very important to acnowlage what your opponent's have and can you beat them by bluffing. no one can teach you when to continue and when to fold, you have to learn it on your own

you need to go very aggresive with leader of chips. atleast you need to have about half of his coins or else all in:) ofcourse you need to get dealer chip. this possesion is the best to go all in:)
