its not about 3-betting preflop. which is a good idea if u have a good hand. its also about picking right spots to steal with marginal hands.
for example if its folded down to you on the cutoff or the button, its ok to raise id say with like 40% of hands. like suited connectors 9-10s,a-10 off,A4 s,a4o, generally you must widen up your stealing range and if they flat and an ace comes out on the board dont be afraid to represent. the further away from the button you are,the more believable the cbet on the flop will b( assuming theres an ace out there and he doesnt have it.
You must also learn which types of flops are good for c-betting.
you want to focus on dry flops.meaning the ones that are less likely to have connected in any way with villain.
boards like this include:
also flops that are good for a cbet if your the initial preflop raiser are :
A29 2tone or rainbow (hence your the preflop raiser and that ace is right in your range) (the closer you are to the button when you raise, the less credit you will be given, keep that in mind)
generally flops that its hard for your opponent to call if he doesnt have a piece of the board.
hope this helps. You must up your agression before and after the bubble in order to get deep into the money.
Remember, your apponents are as scarred as you are. be the bully not the fish. but dont go overboard. be willing to use 25% of your stack as bluffing money. maybe even more,if you think the situation is right. NO guts no glory.
