Blind level time changing in a tournament.

Hello pals,

I'm going to play party poker Main Event this Sunday. Biggest tournament I've ever played and just the second High Stakes MTT I've played. I was studying the blind structure on this thing and noticed that at level 21, the blind structure changes from 15 minutes per level to 20 minutes per level (starting stack to blind ratio at this level is 6.25).

How much this should impact my starting strategy? Should I play tighter than I generally play early, b/c my chips will have more value around level 21? How this should affect mid/short stack play before and after level 21?

This should not change the way you play from a normal online tournament. It does give you extra play in the later levels which is obviously better for being able to wait for some more premium hands but 5 minutes more per level is not that much more. Keep in mind that others may be tightening up there play because of the extra time.

I've seen this in some larger buyin mtt's where the blind levels last longer in the later stages of the tourney. keep playing your game plan and good luck.
