Yeah that was harsh, i had AK pushed vs AQ and lost on the bubble, just a few hands before had QQ and lost to AJ and A9 so if i win either i would have made it easily.

I've tried this tournament twice, second time I finished 127th.

Good luck finishing in top 100. :)

Oops... my bad, just noticed you already played it, very unlucky... well, better luck next time. I'm thinking about playing it again soon.

Thank you i think you have to gain 250 points in the week prior, it's very good freeroll but tough beats, i played all my strong hands and end up losing

Ill try again this week got the points and registerd ive qualified twice before this way pretty good perk for just getting a few points together, that you dont even have to spend on the game.

I'll play this tournament as well this saturday, again... did so last week and won a ticket. :D

Have to say I got lucky a couple of times.

Didn't use it last sunday though, could not play... think I'll use it this sunday.

Good luck on saturday.

Normally, this is not an ideal method, but since its a free entry, this is my suggestion:

play hard early, get a stack, then play smart, allow the rest to wind down till the numbers of players dropping per minute is below 10. Thats when the tournament really starts. Play A-Game from there on out, and know people dont want to make "bad calls", stay away from maniacs.

BTW, when there are about 140-130 people left, the tournament is played really slow by most. A lot of people start using their clock (myself included ) to try to finish in top 100 places... after all, the winning prize is not someting like a 1$ token. ;)

Thats what i did early i play really aggressive then towards the end tight and lost with the best hands but this is one of the best strategies they have the tourney every week if you earn 250 points so not too hard to get!!

How do you guys typically do in the $200 freerolls?

Reason I ask this, is its generally the same names that play the freerolls, make notes on EVRYONE at the table, I'm sure you will run into them in the other freerolls, and this time guessing isn't involved as much. Good luck.

It's a satellite. There's little value in trying to accumulate a bigstack in early levels in a satellite (or in any levels). I'd probably be taking the opposite approach to what you've suggested here, exploiting others who are doing what you're suggesting to do here.

Why is this, I have been playing sattys wrong. But if only (ie.. 5 tickets being given out of 120 people) It seems like youre more under the gun to get chips because you need more because 6th place is no good here where as in a reg buyin mtt 6th would give 4or 5x the buy in. Why arent we trying to accumlate stacks (or have I just read everything wrong again LOL) ahh never mind 100 tickets being given out

It depends.
The steaper the payout structure the more you should try to accumulate chips.

But the general rule is surviving>building stack.

because 5th pays the same as 1st, so it doesn't matter if you come 1st with 100bb or 5th with 0.5bb, you still get the same prize. so your focus should be on surviving until the money, not on building a stack
