It took me 3 freerolls to win a ticket to ACR $66 satellite to 6/12's main event. I got 3rd in the 1 ticket give away, 5th in the 3 ticket give away but finally hit it getting 3rd out of 645 entrants Saturday afternoon.
Started out great. Doubled up AA vs KK, stacked a guy KK vs JJ and was coasting. I looked up 1.5 hours into the tournament with a 15K chip advantage as chip leader. I didn't make any fancy plays, just ran right. My stack started crumbling when I picked up AA and 2.7X raised from the button and got called by K10 after a KJ4 flop and he hit runner runner for a strait in a 12K pot. I lost a 7Bb hand to a short stack when I picked up 33 in the Bb and called off such a small all in. Then I raised 3.5x from mid position with 10s to 3500 and a med. stack pushes for 10.5K with KK. Then I ran AK into AJ for another 9K pot loss. All reasonable calls as a big stack, nothing to think about.
After such a huge lead(3K off the average for cashing, top 66 get the $475 ticket to main event), I found myself in mid 80s/100 position and 30 off cash. I finally found the right position to shove over the tournament chip leader(98K) with AK suited after he raised to 3K. He snapped my 9Bb bet of 12K and even after I hit a K on the flop he wins the pot and knocks my dream of becoming onlines next big sensation. Couldn't stomach the poker odds calculator until a few hours later. After hitting the pair of K on the flop, he only had 12% to river 2 pair. Someone even after I played safe for so long, he easily found the call with 84. Next time, I'll fold to such a scary scary large stack bet. If only I had the stack to blind into cashing.
Disclaimer: First time rehashing the nightmares of losing poker. Hopefully its understandable
