I often find myself in the big with cards like k8o or something like that and half the table limps. I'm always tempted to raise as opposed to just checking but with that many limpers someones bound to have dominated right? Not to mention im out of position if i get called

Any suggestions on what the optimal move here is

perhaps raising 4x the big blind so if someone calls, i have a better idea of their range

Ive only been playing the game a few week, known how to play a while but not with any depth or considerations of the more technical side of the game.

raising 4x is so much, if want to play more agressive in big blind make a mini raise 2x or 2,5x

raising 4x with K8o or others weak hands is not good for your game in long run

When I am in big blind, i will play cards I normally wouldn't play. It depends on what the raise is, if it is late in tournament. I could blind out very shorty, I normally then would play any 2 cards. I know i am gambling, but at some point I need to take a jab , trying to stay alive in tournaments. Some days it helps and others it doesn't.
