Which is better-a risky-aggressive strategy or a calm, moderate game?

If you are playing a ST or Turbo game then Risky and Aggressive strategy is good. It does not mean to play bad cards. It only means to wide your ranges and Use middle position as well to play few speculative hands.

In normal tourneys play Tight and position based poker. Normal tourneys have plenty of time to last long though variance do happen like a Full house beaten by a better one.

Against aggressive player wait for his mistake and utilise it max.

Of course, it all depends on what you play. I prefer tournaments and usually, depending on the format and opponents, use different styles of play.

I like to change it up now and then, but I prefer risky, no risk no win.

Risk accounts, but want less risk. I'm still sometimes use a strategy specifically tighten the time and my opponents are starting to get nervous, I use it. We must always be calm.

As you sit down at a table you will start to get the feel and flow of the game that is being played. See what players are doing and make mental notes of how each player is playing their hands. You can use their aggressive play against them and you could also use the calm play of others to get out of some sticky situations!

If you are a player that wants to win big and lose big when you play, playing an aggressive game is the way to go. For example, I play with an individual who regularly chases draws and is willing to put a lot of money down while playing for the draws. As a result, I have seen him bust out of cash games quite quickly. On the other hand, I have also seen him run hot and take all the money in the pot. For example, yesterday I flopped two pair and he was chasing a draw. I raised 7 times the flop because I knew I was playing against him and he would be willing to call a lot to see the next card with the draw on the board. He instantly called and got the straight on the turn. Instead of checking back to me he fired a bullet. This confirmed my suspicion that he had hit the straight and I laid my hand down. At which point he showed the straight.

I think it all depends on the specific situation. I don't like to play aggressively unless circumstances require it. But I like aggressive opponents. I always create traps for such players.

In my practice, aggressive long-range play did not bring profit ... Also, playing aggressively in freeroll tournaments, I quickly crashed and only with a calm tight game did I reach the prize place.

The latter is best.

I think that the choice of playing style can vary depending on the limit and the field in the tournament, as well as the players at the table.
At low climates, a lot of people will play very aggressively and with all sorts of rubbish. Catch them when you have a monster hand.

A risky-aggressive strategy won't get you anywhere either. Too often you will find yourself in bad situations and mercilessly go down against monsters. Play aggressively but very selectively. So you have fewer headache hands and don't inflate pots with bluffs. This is something you should never get used to.

The maniac is particularly prone to any kind of bluff finding. He likes to bluff, so give him the opportunity to do so. If there is one type of opponent against whom slowplay, which is otherwise so nonsensical on the small limits, makes sense, then it is against him. Against the maniac you should:
Play tight
Induce bluffs
Refrain from bluffing yourself

calm and moderate play is better in my opinion, but moderately aggressive

To win a tournament you must mixed both strategy i think. At selected moments of game one strategy is better then other. It's tricky to find the solution to win a tournament.
