With a short stack <10BB, I prefer the fold/push situation. I try to be patient and stick to a narrow range of hands for pushing.
But in this situation, you should also understand that you can not let the blinds go through you. Depending on the opponents' game, it's better to put all-in even with a low hand to get a chance to double or take the pot on the pre-flop.

I loosen my hand choice and then it's semi-cautious aggression, aggression, aggression!!!

I strongly agree that below 10bb you must not let the blinds go through you. It's much better to build back up strongly or go down swingin!

A combination of patience and happiness is needed
It happened to me several times that an aggressive player kicked me out with trash hands....6 8....or 7 J against my KK or QQ
Skills is required but happiness plays a big role if someone plays all in

rofl. u really thinking, or want learn this kung-fu skill? man, everyone who on final table with 10bb and ez win its not tactic. 80% wanna chips in fight, in the big money cant bluff/3bet/4bet bluff and 20% can stay like he see new series walking dead... if lose 2-3bb he can be sit 3 circles for and push 4bb 68s UTG 4max.

What u talking about? strategy it or no? NO ofc.
we have only push fold with 10bb, and we wanna take chips more and more, NOT split pot, freeroll ;D Because we play 10bb strategy, yo

I would recommend reading the following articles provided by CardsChat:

  1. MTT Short Stack Strategy
  2. MTT Tournament Strategy
'MTT Short Stack Strategy' discusses how to appropriately play a short stack in MTTs.

'MTT Tournament Strategy' discusses general strategy from beginning to end, including around the end of the tournament as you have mentioned.

I had both play styles work for me. I would loosen up and catch a few good hand and won the tournament. I also had a situation where I was low and had aggressive players raising me every hand. I stayed patient there and was down to 5 BB, after that I caught a hand and came back to about 14 BB. I went up and down for about 30 minutes form 15BB to 5BB. The point is I survived to catch a few hands and also won the tournament. There is no real Right way to play a short stack, but usually if you have fold equity you have to be aggressive. If not you have to either shove or fold.

did not know about this BBB table. Now I have more vision than I can do during a tournament. Because when I reach the final stretch, I start to be anxious, not knowing what to do if I am in the final positions of the finalists

Ohhh, sorry. Now I'm only QUALITY ;>

then it means that I should play with high card for example: AA KK QQ AK AQ JJ pushing an all-in to at least catch the ante?

I loosen my hand choice and then it's semi-cautious aggression, aggression, aggression!!!

Thanks for the links. I've to explore more about this forum than just posting at the topics. if u can show me more things about poker, i appreciate it, because I only haven a poker school in pokerstars and I think they give the information a bit over the top. you see?

The internet has a ton of free material, especially CardsChat. I actually have done a poker training site before and those are great too! I plan on joining again this summer when my school work load reduces.

You must be aggressive, you can not wait for AA or KK, because they may never come, and if they come when you have 3 or 4 bb you will not win much, so you have to risk before.

Soul of Isildur everytime with players. Like vigoss in DotA :pogchamp:

Topic: I think what u asking about, -teach me kill everyone at very late station its deeep deeeeep analysis. first - enemy, you need moar concentration at this table, and play not 1 random tournament with guys. Multitabling before play fast 8 tables, its GTO and its life. Grind for $. Give a more chances.
but player with nick innerpsy, streaming anytime 1/2 tables for people, because its teaching?
Two - psychology and money factor. Factor of money, can kill inside you very agressive and good moves, for the page up. Its a work? Have bankroll? Pokerschool pokerstars?))) seriosly?

idk, im try to quality posts and catch final moment!

what limit u play? you need find regulars of this tourneys, best profit. Or you can write on search default "lena900" "cdarwin" "veea" "crownupguy" "wizowizo" "romeopro" and more more top regs and now after u find any of list, open he tables, notice pink color and look at session, not 1 day, everytime after/before/weekend. Analys what he do and why. u can do it with friends, like me. After watch how u play tournament 1 day ago and beating 8 of 9 and find weak/bad/falses, notice your apponents, if u dont have HM (kill for him) and write what opps do. Write > look and think in mind, u can forget...
play play play watch pro, watch after your session with friends or trainner )
psychology its another history, not my competention..

sry for eng, 4 classes school( russian 12 and 5 of 5 exam :D

ofc this senior right. 10bb u cant wait premium and suited cards))) play from position at table, try to still blinds. push more suited connectors, they have so much equity. and many times >>>AQo AKo JK AJo and etc hands.
No Fear push it, but if u lose coin = gg next time thxbye. but its poker.
your "trash" hands win in coin its good. they thinking u ++++range and you pickup KK push -/ nerviouz call on 22 from BB you not short)

i like (not love funboy)how play Kidpoker with short stack and he love siuited connectors. dont thinking about ur hand trash, 45/56s has more equity as AA/KK.

in my opinion all.

When playing under 15BB I like to refer to a push/fold chart by Jonathan Little which is freely accessible on https://floattheturn.com/wp/pushfold/

It shows which hands are +EV to shove when it's folded to you, considering stack size/position/antes

There's nothing else you can think of how to pick up a more or less good hand and throw everything on the table. Sometimes you are waiting for the right moment when you already have 5bb on your hands.

You basically want to try to go all in with any hands that you might get a good feeling on. Also you can either try to go heads up with any two decent holdings so you don/'t have to go through more than 1 person or you can take the strategy of going all in with there are multiple people in the hand and wish to get lucky. Either way you are in a do or die situation.
