I've been playing a long time, tried most forms of poker.
never made anything at limit, never made anything at cash NLHE, suck at PLO.
The only thing I seem to be good at is tournaments and it's also one of the first things I learnt.

I can only play the big MTTs on the weekend so I'm looking for something to play during the week that lasts about 2-3hrs.

I used to play the 2 table and 45 man turbos and did well.
I'd like to play the 180 man as the prixe structure is higher but I'm a bit worried about the 180 turbos being too fast. The normal speed 180s are too low a buy in for my bankroll.

Any recommendations?

Try 888 they have a good selection of tourneys but most non turbo mtt will go on for longer than 2 -3 hours. So that would take you back to sng's 45 man on pokerstars.

The non turbo $4.50 180mans are very long, maybe too long for recreational players without time.
The $2.50 turbo 180mans are so fast, maybe kills your roll, you have to expect big variance !

A decent number of pros have grinded the 45/180 and done pretty well, but those can take forever to fill and play. Multi-tabling low stakes 9 man turbos (start w 4 tables, move up as you can) and just playing solid poker should be pretty easy money. If you just mean MTTs (not SNGs) then it depends on the website you play, but most pokerstars mtts will take far longer than 2-3 hours. If you want to do Merge network, I know the $1 turbo rebuy at 6pm is pretty fun and shouldn't take too long. There's also an $11 4k gtd deep turbo.

I mean the SNGs that have multiple tables so 45 players, 90 players, or 180 players.
I've played the 45 turbos before they were fine and not too high on variance. However, getting through 180 players on turbos - I'm not sure whether they'd be worth playing? I would only have 2 hours every day to play. On the weekend I usually load up a 10hr MTT on the Sunday.

If you only have 2 hours, then I'd go with the 27 and 45-mans.
