I have a tourny question. BCP has this $100 GTD that only cost $.11 to enter and you can reenter as many times as you want I think up to 10 levels. Anyway would you play this one differently than you would if you bought into a $100 GTD that cost you $5.00. I do. I play real loose in the first one whereas I would play much tighter in the other one. And they both pay the same, so why would I play them differently? Bear sent me something that starts out by saying poker is like war. I have not read it all, but if I don't start playing like that I'm never going to be a real good player.

An .11 cent rebuy? Assuming your bankroll can handle it, play loose...experiment, raise, reraise, go all in w/ any 2, practice bluffs, I mean it's a rebuy.

To answer your question though, YES...you will play a $5 freezeout differently than an .11 cent rebuy tourney. Even if you don't you have to consider the fact that other players with the bankroll will take more chances on draws or when they think you're weak. The money shouldn't be a factor when you're trying to consider the type of play you're going to bring. If you always play to win, the $ will come w/ it.

Poker is a war in the sense that your army needs bullets. Your chips are your bullets. The more bullets you have, the less of a chance your opponent has to win.

Edit: noticed it's a re-entry...same answer.

Thanks LuckyBundy13 That's kind of the way I play that one, but should I not play it the best I can, because there are a few 100 playing in it by the time it gets to the 10th level. And the blinds are high by that time too so a 2500 rebuy don't last very long at that level.

I agree, there's a certain point in a tournament where it's not profitable to re-enter a tournament due to the blinds/antes being so high. If you haven't "amassed an arsenal of bullets" towards the end of the re-entry, don't bother imo.

Good Luck to you at the tables.

BCP $100 GTD for $.11

I just got done playing this tourny, well when I got knocked out at 101. It started at 7:15 PM and when I got knocked out it was 10:00 PM. That is 2 3/4 hours and still 101 players left. And it would be they paid 99 places lol. It's a very long tourny, and I think I got restless and uninterested, or something that I can't name. But even though it's all this I will probably play it again tomorrow lol

Lol!!! I've played it twice and was lucky enough to FT it once.. out 3rd. Yeah, it is long... rofl... really long if you're thinking, all this for how much? But it is one step up from the FRs and more fun insomuch as 3k ss and 12 min blinds gives you time to play whatever your style.

I have tried to play this, and believe it or not I won it once for 19.50. Winning this is the only thing that makes spending 6 hours worth it. I got paid less than minimum wage. IF you think about ROI for this though it raised it up very nicely.. lol I think when I ended it, it was like 2:20AM. It is a good way to pass time though if you are bored, watching all in after all in. One of them saw 7 people go all in.. HAHA

Thanks for the replies. Yeah it's a good way to play out my $1 and some change. Maybe on the very last one I will win that $19.50. I guess the 6 hours would be worth it. At least could play it 1900 more times lol. Yep one step above the FRs and you would think there would be twice as many players. But many can't afford even $.11 so if I can pay it I would rather play it.

I just played it again on ACR and I came in 34th for .55 cents.. the ups and downs of 11 cent tournies really hit me after the bubble, how much people shoved with garbage and hit... I went from 2 out of 81 to out in 34th.. Bluffs did not work, best hands did not hold up.. Its all good this was really worth 5 hours out of my life... haha made 11 cents an hour...

Now that's funny $.11 an hour. The only reason I play it is the fact I only have a few bucks on there. I guess too it's good practice. Yep you going to run into some crazy playing.

Thought I would bring this tread back out, because I keep trying this one. Tonight I finished 27th out of 469. Only top 5 really pays anything but I have got some good practice out of this tourny. And I plan to keep playing it until I win it then try one bigger. I might not have much on there right now but I can play this same one many times over

Dang punctual did not know that was you that wrote that. I been reading it when I have time. But one thing for sure you have it stuck in my mind that poker is like war. I like the way to write. Oh and Bear Play is the one who passed it on to me

so, one of the many ways that I analyze a tournament (besides its structure) is how big of a field I'm playing. The bigger the field, the more chips you're eventually going to need to make the big money (meaning the more risks you should be willing to take).

so the different ways I would look at a $100 guarantee tourney with a $5 buy in vs. a 0.11 buy in is how large of a field is implied with the guarantee.

With a $5 buy in the guarantee implies a 20 person field

with a 0.11 buy in, the guarantee implies a 1,000 person field.

naturally, the path to victory in a 1000 person tourney is littered with more bad beats, more big suckouts, more coolers, more more more. Risks will need to be taken somewhere along the way to get you to those top pay spots.

with a 20 person tourney....that is not so different from a SnG. Standard, tight ABC poker is oftentimes plenty to get you into the money in a single table SnG. so a 20 person tourney wouldn't be a far cry from that.

I hope that helps.

This may give you all a laugh. I have a little money on ACR and BCP now because of our freerolls, and I'm trying something bigger and doing worse than I did with the $.11 buyin. lol Think I will go back to it now that I can play it 3000 times lol. Just kidding.

in tournaments specially with low buy-in like 11cents you will find alot of players bluffing and since there are rebuys they are going to play like crazy until they get a decent stack like 5 or 6 times the buy-in stack

so unless you have a good amount of bullets(rebuy cash) you shold avoid rebuy and add on tournaments until you have a decent amount of experience and bank.

unless of course your just want to burn money i would say to avoid that since the bigger the pocket the more likely it will be to win

i would do like this
the 5dolars can give you experience playing with higher stakes
for 11cents try the freerool games since its similar to play but without the rebuy and you can stil make money

I hate to say it, but I play cheap tourneys like a freeroll. I try to chip up or go out early.
