Can someone give me advice on how to truly grind these solidly making a long term profit. There has to be a way to beat these and live off them I had a 25 dollar bankroll And won it up to 50 then went broke I was deff playing out of my bankroll playing 3 dollar sngs cause I would be bored from the 1.5 should I try again any tips from winning players. I would also like advice on how many buy ins I should have as well as tips on grinding against regs. Also curious on how much you should be bluffing in these tournaments. I find myself doing it too much and getting called down by a hand theoretically that should have folded.

You aren't gonna make a living off $1.50 SnG's.

And won it up to 50 then went broke I was deff playing out of my bankroll playing 3 dollar sngs cause I would be bored from the 1.5 should I try again any tips from winning players. Like anything else, it depends, it depends, it depends. I mostly play cash, with the occasional SnG thrown into the mix. When playing any form of Poker where you see the same faces all the time, take notes dammit! get a line on their play, and make a note of it. That way, you can tell who's improving, who's devolving (I've seen the play so different that I'm sure an otherwise good player was letting a fishy SO play the account) who's making the same mistakes over and over again.

I'd say $50 is sufficient for $3.00 SnG's, that's over ten entries, and I highly doubt that the caliber of play was all that much better than at the $1.50 SnG's. This looks like an attitude problem than anything else. Scared money is always losing money. If you feel the need to be more 'rolled, then deposit that much. If you plan to play up, then stick with the $1.50 SnG's and don't worry about "boredom" if you're profitable playing these.

"Also curious on how much you should be bluffing in these tournaments".

It depends, it depends, it depends: who's in? Are they stationy callers? If so, you never want to bluff them. Are there any FoF players there? If so, bluff the hell out of them: they won't call unless they hit a piece of the board. Any nut scared rabbits who're nursing a short stack? Run 'em off!

"I find myself doing it too much and getting called down by a hand theoretically that should have folded".

You answer your own question: stop doing that. Problem solved. If they're calling with hands that should have "theoretically" folded, then there's the possibility they have a line on your play and are exploiting. You have to change it up: less bluffing, more value betting. Either that, or they're 'stations, and unbluffable. Again, more value betting 'stations -- let 'em pay you off.

Well but u have come to the right forum with the right question :D i have grown all my BR on every poker room that i play out from scratch, i play a lot of SNG`s but i also play a lot of MTT`s, and they both can help you grow your BR, what u did, is what every1 at the beginning does, it plays bigger buyins, even he knows thats the wrong thing to do, play 1.50 and when u make 150 dollars then u can move up to 3 dollars buy in sng, if u ran in to a dry patch in stead of going up the buyins u go down, to minimize your loss, and one thing that u really need to have is patience, with out it you will find yourself often depositing money on the poker room u r playin :D

Bankroll wise it really just depends on your skill level, if you have no edge on the field you will need like $300 to play them, if you have sufficient skill you can get away with like $100, $50 is a bit low in reality, even with a skill edge you can go broke a decent amount of the time.

I actually started playing the $3 games with $150 roll, and was lucky enough to have a pretty decent skill edge from the get go, as i put in a ton of study before i even loaded one game of SNG.

So that's what it really boils down to, work ethic and what you are prepared to do to learn the game and get better. Learn some strategy, learn how to use ICM tools, learn how to analyse your own play, learn how to multitable, how to read players, how to play games when you don't want to play games, how to play with tilt, how to play through with your b game...

After my initial study period i studied and played at a 50:50 ratio. i would study for 1 hour before playing 1-2 hours of gametime. I started playing 2 tables, and slowly grew to 4, then 6, then 8, 10, 12, 15, 22 etc. It's all a constant work in progress, constant learning, tweaking and evolving. After a while i studied less and played more, gradually increasing the amount i played.

So there's a ton of things you can do to get yourself started, but it's no easy road.
