I play the $2.50+.20 hu Sng's at 888, and these are the 4 minute blind ones. How many buy ins should I have for these games? I currently am on 110

Nobody can give you a clear answer for your question, since we have to assume much! imo

I could say your question depends on variation+ability+mental game (some cases, possible)!

Note that it is not possible to calculate variation 100% accurate anyways - best you could get is something like 99,9%

Summary: I can not answer for your guestion, sorry! The best i could give to you, some guidelines!

like ambur mentions it's a personal thing.

but a rough guideline for HU sngs would be 100-200BB. You can of course get away with lower if you want to follow a system where you move up at X amount and move down at x amount, or you are highly skilled.

If 110 is your whole bankroll and you cannot put more in when it's gone i would suggest playing lower games and grinding it up to at least $200 and move back down at $100 as a rough guideline.

hi!
what roi you have?
i think 20-30 buy ins are fine for heads up sng
variance in such games is smaller than any other kind of games
keep grinding and good luck

30 buyins is more then enough for your format ( 4 minutes is something like turbo speed i believe), although I like to keep it more (I play normal speed HU SNGs).
You never know what kind of downswing can get you :)

That bankroll should be ok. Just make sure to notice if you are starting to tilt and not jump up stakes and blow off your bankroll.

Personally I would say on the conservative side you want at least 50. On the more professional side if you're really trying to take the game serious you prob want 100. If you're taking a shot and trying to move up quickly than i'd say 25 would be enough if you want to gamble a bit.

So how can you protect against these swings of fortune? The answer is to ensure you have a big enough bankroll to withstand them. Most Pro SNG players recommend that the minimum requirement is 50 buy-ins for the level at which you play. Others suggest that a 100 buy-in SNG bankroll will effectively shield you from any thoughts / concerns about variance.
Here is what your 50 buy-in Bankroll should look like for the various levels.
$3+30 SNGs = $165
$5+50 SNGS = $275
$10+1 SNGs = $550
$20+2 SNGs = $1100
$25+2 SNGs = $1350
$30+3 SNGs = $1650
$55+5 SNGs = $3000
$100+9 SNGs = $5450

i think 50 bb should be plenty enough, however if you have a downswing of 25 bb you should lower the limit to 1 dollar heads up stt until you reach 50 bb of the higher limit in this case 2.50.

You will catch up with the dispersion better than 50 BB 100 or more!
Or you can gently with 50 BB Well!;) gl

as stated already to many variables people need to think about or give more details before posting these sort of things.

I have actually looked into the variance for heads up hypers and played a lot of them. The games I played were 2 minute levels so were faster and had more variance likelyhood. However I played them on a site where the standard was simply awful and I also mug shot and was able to rematch some fish many many games. and these fish were just so easy to beat it was unreal. I achieved a win rate of around 10% as i said though the standard was awful and I was able to play some really bad players. I know some regs did the same since I was not the only one with a win rate like that.

this was exceptional on my worst run I had somewhere between a 25-30 buyin down swing. However as I said I had some good circumstances. there standard on higher stakes even with much reduced rake on stars as compared to other sites shows much much thinner win rates and also shows some pretty horrific swings for regs.

I dont play on 888 however have heard it is quite fishy and you are playing relatively low stakes. so should in theory have soft competition. also with the fact that your game is slower then mine you should not suffer to horrible variance assuming that your a decent player which I do have no idea on.

I would be making a lot of assumptions and this is just an educated guess so take it with a pinch of salt and dont blame me if things go wrong, but.. I would guess that you would probably be ok with a 50 buyin bankroll rule.

There is no single answer to your question. Somewhere you can read the information about 10-15 buy-in. In other place 15-20 buy-in. You have to understand and correctly assess the risk. Be sure that you can win more money than you put into tournaments.
