I was playing in this satellite full ring SNG where top 3 players would win tickets to a $20k GTD event. When 4 players were left, I and the player to my right had around 4BB left and the other 2 were way ahead. I was in the BB holding 88 and action folded to the SB(the other shortstack) and she shoved & I called. She showed AKs and the board came out 10 2 7 A A and I ended up busting on the bubble.

Was I wrong to call with 88 in this position? It seemed like an insta-call to me considering that I had a 4th of my stack already invested

Yep it's a snap shove if you are the shortest stack. I done it in a UKIPT Sat last night where i shoved QQ from the button and the big blind has AA. Always better to be the aggressor in those spots. It happens
