Playing in my first league game today, and others that ive watched, ive noticed a lot of you have CC avatars, and some of you have other cool looking pictures etc.

One thing ive noticed is that people are generally easier to remember by their avatar, than it is to remember by name. So, while it may be cool to have a pic up on there.. i used to.. you may be damaging your bottom line..

another thing about putting CC avatars on, your announcing that your part of an online forum, thus giving away free information.

just a random thought....

Good point but by the same rationale wouldnt some players see the avatars and think oh this person knows their shizz they must have the nuts?

And also at our level of play should we fear the fact people know where we come from?

Yeah, who would ever want to advertise their favorite poker forum and encourage other players to join? Cardschat should be secret. Exposure should be punished!! Death to the infidels!!

I leave them turned off and don't even know what mine is anymore.

I think I'm either the rock or the joker clown. My play is a little of both. :boxing:

The OP means custom avatars, specifically on pokerstars where the default is no avatar at all.

I can see your point about the information aspect, but for someone like me, who only has time to play recreationally, it doesn't really make a difference. I'm not out there grinding 8 hours a day. I'm lucky if I can squeeze in eight games a week. :(

yes, on stars as d'wilius said.

and yes juicee your probably right, it doesnt really matter at all if your playing recreationally.

but for those guys who play one level lots, you have to realise your hurting your bottom line. perhaps not by much, but there are times where i have no notes on a player, dont recognise his name, but remember his picture and suddenly remember who he was and how he played.. that cant be a good thing, plus without a avatar, were able to stay under the radar a little more..
