There's a small part of me that wants to have a crack at some satellites to the main event... but the part of me that can't stand playing tournaments will probably win out and I'll just avoid Crown until the series is over and the poker room goes back to normal so I don't have to wait for ages to play the Friday/Saturday night drunks and LAGtards.

Yeah, I still deal, but I've never dealt at Crown (amongst other reasons, because you can't play there if you deal there, and it's the only decent game in town). The company I deal for does private tournaments, corporate functions and stuff. I work with a heap of current and ex-Crown dealers though.

The Aussie Millions series runs from Jan 17 to Feb 3 this year.

I won't be playing, but I may be in the area.

Good luck to those that play.

Out of interest, how big were the cash game wait lists while you were in there? And did the games look like they were any good (ie: lots of drunks and casuals) or was it mostly "serious" tournament players?

cash games on 2-4 are full of retards , but you need to grind it out aliitle and wait for spots. a lot of limping , and these melbourne guys are loose , will get paid of hard if you hit hard. top pair is like the nuts , 5-5 has got some better players , but standard overall is preety shait

the torneys at the latter stages are tougher some really good players who will test you big time . these fokers are crazy too , was playing the 1100 six max last nite and on the bubble two big stacks are having levelling wars 4-5 betting , ones got air , the other has 10-9 on a A-K-10-7-2 board , man 10-9 wins like a 70k pot

So tournament nits haven't fully taken over then, good. Were the wait lists very long?

I play in at Crown a fair bit, but I tend to avoid it during Aussie Millions figuring the fish:nit ratio is usually pretty bad and so are the wait lists, but it might be different this year.

havent had any problem with jumping on a table yet , although I have been playing nights only , sat friday nights are the best , you get some killer drunk superstars ( value town ) must say though that was grinding other day , finally picked up some bullets after not playing a hand for about 30 min , raised it to 25 on 2 4 table and got 5 callers , to cut a long story short , the aces got cracked by 10 2 o . So it can be high varience sometimes.
Nits in torneys ? not seen many , played terminator last nite had last years main event champ on my table , preety agro , and also some dude that is ranked top 3 in UK , never seen someone so hyper yet , this guy raised litrally every hand , the only hands he didnt raise is the ones he called , he got about 7k in terminator buttons.
Anyways took it down in the end after 16 hours straight pay :)
