I played at the regional finals in the weekend. I was expecting there to be around 500 people playing, I turn up and they are expecting 600 - 700 people. Final count was around 920 people so it was much bigger than expected! They were still only paying top 40 so it made it quite hard to even get near the money.

I managed to stay in until around 140th, there was still 18 tables left playing.

I feel like I played well in the part of the tournament where I usually struggle, building my stack with the small blinds. I did this well but then with the brutal blinds structure I found myself shortstacked fairly quickly and had to start shoving. This didn't last long and my AJs couldn't improve against pocket sevens sending me to the rail.

This weekend I am playing a 250 player tournament with $500,000 prize money which I satellited into a couple of months back. This is a two day event with a deep stack and nice slow blind increases (as far as live tournaments go).

All the info is here - [broken link~tb]

I would love to play more live games, I just don;t like the structure by where I live.

So I'll just stick to online. :D

Im trying to play more open MTT´s now, was staying only with 27 S&G or private games with low numbers but i need to try more games with bigger fields, the S&G are more for grow BR or when don´t have much time, hopely will have time to play some in the week. Still don´t think will be a lot of volume, but want to get back to those fields.

Play a couple yesterday and cash in both, one short in Merge, ended 5/50, the other on Hollywood (ongame) ended 7/503, lets see if can keep it on the month.

Good Luck on your games.

Who's all got a big tourny schedule today?

I'm playing a lot of the stars guarantee tournies. Busted out of four so far. All of which I got my money in way ahead. My 88 against A8 rivers an ace. my AK no good against AQ. Stuff like that.

Thanks, I was pretty mad at myself for not winning. I was the best player at the table by far. I crippled myself trying to take down a pot and It was up to luck after that.

Such a bad day today, $50 in buy ins, no cashes.

Lost pretty much ever flip and only won maybe 2 70/30's.

Bubble of the $5.50 2R/1A 25K

I'm pretty short stacked and in the cut off. Hi jack has raised 8 of the last 10 hands and raised again. I look down at AQ with 8 BB's. So I shove, he snap calls with AK. gg me.

I need to play more...

Here are your PokerStars Game Statistics for your last 1 games
requested by D'wilius.
Your request was for 2000, however you have only played 1 games.

actually, I've been playing a few $3-5 mtts/day this month. One final table bubble, one semi deep run. Basically gave up on cash games few months ago other than bonus clearing (and brief dream of Rush pokers), so might start taking mtts more seriously. Guess I should be playing $5-10 and more volume with the $400 I have left online. Going to activate my 30+7 day DragTheBar membership soon when I'm ready to concentrate on playing.

Finally starting to play some MTTs on Titan. The software there prior to recent updates was pretty bad but with newest stuff it's quite an improvement and will likely be putting in alot more play there now.
I really like the structure of some of their daily MTTs as well (ie. my favourite so far is a $30+3, 6,000 chips, 10min. blinds & blinds only 50/100 at the 1hr. mark). Field size is <200 with Top20 pd. Some others with more typical 3,000chip 10min. levels also, with simliar field size. Couple of good weekend tourneys as well but a bit pricey for me still (for now ;) ).

Well its been a couple of weeks since the big tournament that I played in. I ran like absolute crap. I was out after about 5 hours after getting short stacked and shoving my AJ into an AK... Best hands I got all day wer JJ and AKo. They both came within the first ten minutes. I took down the blinds with JJ and had to lay down AK after missing the flop and some big bets from opponents.

Hero: 7,8s with average stack on the button
Villain: 8,To with big stack in small blind

Hero raises, SB calls, BB folds

Flop: 5,6,9 rainbow

Villain bets small, Hero raises 3x (just over pot), Villain calls

Turn: Q

Villain checks, Hero bets half pot, villain calls

River: J

Villain bets less than half pot, Hero calls

And that was how I lost most of my stack and was forced to start shoving and praying...

But anyway... It was a great experience, I got a big bag of full tilt gear (book, dvd, hat, shirt etc...) and although I ran bad I was pretty happy with how I played.

I've been having a bit of a break from studying poker and playing online after the tournament but still playing down at the local pub and will be back into it in a few weeks :)

Playing a 11$ 25k gtd on PS tonight. After a week of hardly any poker and all work I am ready to go!

I'll probably post a couple hands in here.

Also note I am playing on a stake for this one too!

First good hand and a great start, the flush almost scared me with his shove but I just dont see him smooth calling the turn with a flush.

52 of 117 left in the FT 10,000 rush guarantee. Top pays ~3,000. After timebanking to get in the money, I had a run of cards I've never had before. Pretty stoked right now, hopefully I can hit a final table here.

EDIT: Make that 26th of 114 after someone shoves on my blind steal. Too bad I had QQ and they had 66 for them!
