At what point do you start playing aggressive?

Sometimes when i play a tournament my stack just keeps getting smaller just because I have to fold a lot of hands pre flop and after the flop. Then when the blinds get bigger it gets even worse. Then when i have 6-8 BB left I start bluffing a little more to give me some more time to get a better hand. But when is the best time to try to get yourself out of this. Most of the time i don't get knocked out by losing an all in but by slowly losing a bit each time. Can someone help me?

I personally shove at around the 10BBs mark. I feel if you are shoving with 6 BBs the deep stacked players will call irregardless of their hand. When you are shoving with 10BBs it makes players a little more cautious as it will hurt them more if you actually have a good hand.

You should also be stealing the blinds from late position, this keeps your stack nicely padded and stops you falling way behind.

sounds like my buddy Broomcorn's uncle to me. you cant just sit around and let the blinds eat ya. if your game is natural tight, as it seems, try to work it into tight agressive at least. basically keep your tight standards for preflop holdings, but when you catch some solid hands bet them decisively. toss in a pre flop raise and dont give up on the pot if you miss the flop, make a continuation bet. if nothing else it will buy you a little info. if you run into resistance you may have to beat the retreat, but you have to make a play for that pot.

and as stated above, if you wanna get a little frisky and make some proper steals, do it from late position. preferably when everyone has folded to you, or at least there were no early pos. callers.

If I have a stack of less than 10-8 bb have to move to a more agressive game with аllin. At the same time I try in late position steal the blinds. Average card is fine for this.

In my opinion (been playing 2500 tournaments) the best time to get aggresiv and start gettin that stack all in is the mid time of a tournament. In this stage the fish are mostly gone and the good players still remain. The danger is smaller because the fish are out and will not call you that often.

Doesn't make sense being aggressive with crappy hands... but when i see someone bullying the table or me I try to make a stand. This usual with a medium stack

I agree with this, but man, you sure do see a lot of crappy hands going all-in and it doesn't really seem to matter with what because more often than not, one hand is going to make a pair and the other isn't, i.e., it usually comes down to a coin flip.

I think you are playing a bit too tight and if you end up with only 5-6bb you need to play more hands from position. Raising from button and CO as well as bb and sb sometimes can build your stack if you steal properly.

aggression

Careful on the aggression with poor hands as people will realise your gameplay and call with their own poor hands

I think that aggression does not have an exact time. Rather, it depends on the situation of the hand being played, observe villains and if our cards really have the strength to exert such pressure ...

I absolutely agree with EsnneyPk. The perfect time depend on what is the type of game people on the table have. If the players are loose and aften willing to pay the money to see the flop, then you must be carefull with what you raise or go all in, but if the players are hard nuts, then you can be aggressive more often, because they will call you only with good hands, and in that case, when they call you know that they have a good hand.

Also, when you drop down to 10-15 BBs left, that is the time to wait for good hand and position and to go all in, because if you drop down to 10 or less, dudes will call you even with weak hands especially BB and SB.

If I have a stack of less than 10-7 bb I have to move to a more aggressive game in аll While attempts in the last position to steal the blinds would play as aggressive horn to recover a good battery.

Depends. On an hyper tournament, right from the start. For turbo, not long after, I just give it about 3 rounds for a 6-Max. For a normal pace, I usually let players knock eachother out for a while, playing tight and trying to safely accumulate chips.

I am about the same way as you . I am usually a pretty tight player. My key is like already stated is to steal the blinds when possible and when you do catch decent to strong hands play them really aggressively and try and extract as much value out of them as you can. Also anytime I get less than 10bb my only two options are push/fold.

i like to start off being aggressive controling the pots. i think you should play more hands when the blinds are lower play more suited connectors try to hit flops. i think also waiting until you only have 6-8 blinds is not good more like 10-15 range start pushing, avoid battliing big stacks, pick spots to bluff ahainst other tight players. gooder luck bud

i used to play aggresive when my chips are below 12bb whit decent hands. also in FT when 3 players left having a good stack, to play LAG is a good option.

I'd rather be tighter at the beginning and middle of the tournament and go dropping my game near the bubble, where the short stacks are more tights to get the money

When you have a good hand at the beginning and when you have to bluff to survive. Dont hesitate of folding with a AK with a J 8 3 flop, for example. The odds are not high!

I get to play aggressive when I see what I'm getting to behind. with few chips there I start playing with cards that can lead me to victory. more TBM have to play in position!
