I know how to tell if a player is loose or tight but how do I actually give opponents a hand range?

for example: a guy from UTG with a PFR% of 6 raises 3xBB....you can exclude 72o from his range

Download pokerstove (it's free) and play around with it. Get an idea of what the top 5, 10, 15 and 20% of hands are. Then next time you see a player with say a 7% preflop raise stat, you can estimate his range fairly well.

I am using tournament indicator and I have pokerstove, my question is how can I put my opponent on top 15% or top 25%, using my hud stats?

here is an example, lets say my opponent has 10/10. would I put him on the top 10% of hands? what if it was 24/7? Of course position and stack size would change some things.

If there any good are not position will tell.A 10\10 player prop is only playing 2\2 or something similar in early position.Much wider in late position. You can use the steal bb stat on your HUD for this.On review you can look the player up by position and\or players with his similar stats and go through how they play EP,MP,LP,SB,BB.

Yea, position and stacks will be a major factor. The number of hands is also important. if its early stage and he has 31/25 on 12 hands, that may not mean as much as it looks like. He may just be getting good cards, and his PFR looks good against his VPIP. He may just be a LAG and bad, its hard to say yet. If he is 34/0 on 12 hands, that will make fishy bells go off, but still, not many hands. On the other hand if he is 0/0 that is more of a read with few hands. The more hands, the more you can believe the stats.

You need a fair number of hands before you can really put anyone on a hand, but not a ridiculous amount. 20-25 should begin to show a pattern (but still can mean anything, so it only a small hint), and from 75-80, you should have an idea of how loose or tight they are, at least on your table. With not too many hands, you want to think about how the table is playing as well, as this may have an influence over how they play. Of course blinds, position and stacks play a big role as well. As you yourself get more hands under your belt, it will become clearer how to interpret the stats.

I play a lot of the same players now in SnGs, and have 4-600 hands on a few, and it is really amazing how a 15/11 over all can play 37/28 in a particular game. Things like that are particularly important to note, as well as noting the table dynamics as to why he is so aggressive at this table. The 35-40/? + players over many hands tend to always be 35-40(or more)/?+ on any table. (? cause their PF raises are usually either also high or non existent.) I get the occasional 65/?+ player, its always a treat.........

Okay this is very time consuming but what I did for ranges was went through my pt3 data and went through every regulars hand history with me. I then went in with pokerstove and SNG wiz to pick out every hand they shoved or called with and put very simple notes on that player for reference when playing. But you can also take different stats while in game and get a good estimate on how they play in 50 hands or so.

One of the first things I learned in poker from a simple book called "The Mammoth Book of poker" was to always ask yourself everyhand, "what does the other guy have??" Just keep that thought in your head and start expanding the simplicity of it to an actually range of hands or perhaps just a few hands.
