That Main Event looks weird but I've seen a few tournaments that allow re-entry just never seen one where even if you survive your Day 1 you could not make it to the next day because of too small a chip stack. And yes sometimes the prelim events for these are often better options than the ME.

I will be there! I'm really looking forward to this event. The casino offers daily satellites so that is how I am going to try to get in, but if that doesn't pan out I will drop the dough.

The one-table satty's looked like crap for structure to me. That's why I'm playing the MTT warm-up events next week. Can't quite swing it to drop the grand for the main, so will take my shot on Monday.

First break. About 6k with 100/200 blinds.
Not much to report. A couple of raise and take in position. KK cracked with A spiked on flop. Played 55 twice wrong. Played 88 good once bad another.

100% card dead in level 3.

Out 229/246

Final hand: On the button with Ad9h. 25/100/200. 6600 and change after ante.

Mid position limps (as he usually did), cutoff calls, I raise to 600. MP calls. CO folds. I was more worried about the CO - he was solid all day and had the big stack at the table. MP, not so much - tended to be a bit donkish.

Flop Qd 10h Jc. MP leads out for 2200. I jam it in for 3400 more. MP goes into hysterics trying to talk himself into a call... he easily has me covered. After about 5 minutes of this, MP finally calls.

We show up and he's got Ah Ac. The board runs dry and I'm out. It's the only time I saw someone with pocket rockets at the table all day (at least that showed). Dammit - figures it would show up right when I try to make a semi-bluff with a flopped OESD.

It was fun. That 3rd (100/200) level of total card-deadness just killed me. I played a couple of limped pre-flops out of the blinds. Tried to do a bit of trip fishing with 55... nuttin doing. Got pushed off of A10os in the small blind.

I would say that my image was fairly tight - I was able to raise and take a few pots in the early going, but as the two easy marks at the table busted and stacks got short for some, there was a bit of big stack bullying.

Oh well. Next time. Prize pool paid 7K for first, 4K second... on down to 30 places.

Not a bad jam there. It would be tough to make the call with TP.

Informative post, good reading. Probably a lot of Nevadians thee I am sure. Hav'nt heard anything bout this over this way (New Mexico).
Well, I can't find anyone out here to play a night of cards unless at the nearby casinos.
Look forward to some updates.

Only update you are gonna see... I busted and don't have the roll for the main event... Hell, if I had the roll, I'd be playing tomorrow in the $200 and then Wednesday in the $500 warm-ups.

Actually, the Phoenix area has a really strong Poker community in it. 250 at a Monday morning low-buyin tourney is actually pretty good.
I may drop by over the weekend to just watch - there should be at least 1500-2000 runners in the main event over the three day 1's.
