early mtt $0.25 buyin, 15/30
i have AcQc, 5th
UTG call, I raise to 4x, BB call, UTG call ( pot 365 )
flop : 3c Ah 9c
BB raise 30 ( less than 8% of pot ), UTG call...
call or raise?
I know solid strategy is to raise, but these players were medium tight preflop ( vpip 20-25, pfr 3 ) and terrible postflop, UTG is calling station with attempts of trickiness...my idea was to lure in possible weak ace or flushdraw
Anyway, I called, got 3k on turn, BB bet 60 UTG call, same dillema...

Thoughts?

you didn't post stack sizes. I'm assuming that everyone had ~1500 since it's the early stages of the mtt.

If people are running 25/3 they aren't tight.

When the BB donks the flop it's a bet, not a raise, because there's no money in the pot.

Raise the flop to about 280, snap shoving if someone 3-bets; lolling when they turn over AJ/AT/9xXc/some crappy flush draw they shouldn't be playing OOP or at all, crying if they have 2 pair or a set.

Calling here is bad because you're letting them see a cheap card on the turn and you're losing value when you have the best hand which is something like 70% of the time.

you're only getting value from Ax or club draw. Flatting the flop in a pot you opened and made your hand is just LOLbad.

What would you do if you flat and a club hits the turn?

Dont let them chase for free.

edit: By "opened" I mean that you were the preflop raiser

It's a 25c mtt dude. I was playing the 25c mttsng's almost exclusively for the entirety of August; people will float here with 9xXx and middle pairs that they don't want to fold to a c-bet.

Not sure if you noticed but my post was agreeing with yours. If they are awful enough to give you value without an ace or a club draw then even better. Trying to conclude that you're being floated that early in the game is unadvisable tho. I completely think we have villains range dominated (or fd) and I would play the hand as so. Don't kno if I made it clear but we are raising 100% of the time otf.

I just read back my post and it was fairly dickish :S. Meant to say that at this BI level and this action we can probably give both villains a wider range than Ax and worse draws, so we'll be getting value from other things as well.

for sure. Havent played supermicros so I haven't familiarized myself with villain ranges at those levels. Just speaking for most other levels I guess. I didnt think it was d***ish I just didnt think I was contradicting your line.

always treat a donk min-bet as a check -- so raise flop

umm... You've flopped a monster so start trying to get as many chips in the middle as possible! (big hand = big pot. You're not going to get a big pot unless you start building it). I'd raise to ~300

You had top pair and flush draw you should have at least raised him 1.5x his bet to see where you were in the hand it, if he flats and you hit your flush he might have been set mining and you got him right where you want him.

Haha yeah, the original bet was for 8% of the flop, it can basically be viewed as a check.

After you hit the flop nicely like that (top pair and 4 clubs), you would bet. So in this situation you should bet (err, raise) IMO up to like 1/2 the pot

Agree with others - raise to about 300 and be willing to get it in. If he flats your raise, I'm shipping majority of turns.
