AQ- top pr & flush draw - early in the game.. Can I at least learn something from it?

I could not find a hand converter sorry - but really need some feedback - and I am really very disappointed too.

Game is $54 buy-in - about the 4th hand of the game.
I won the coupon from a $5 satellite - and was real exited to play. 46 people in the game - 7 ITM. Ongame network.

HOW CAN YOU AVOID THIS OUTCOME?
DID I DO ANYTHING WRONG?

well IMHO obviously you did something wrong.
You called an allin with second best flush. Not to come off mean sounding, but it is what I gathered from it.Sure you flopped top pair but there was already flush possibility out there on flop. and your top pair was still not top kicker. not unreasonable to even consider A/10 calling a 3 bet early in a tournament.
You had to think for a moment that when they flatted you that they had something just as strong as your high pair and second bet flush draw.
Early in a tournament I would NEVER risk my stack on a possible best hand not to mention just top pair, with a flush possibility already on the board.
Maybe if you bet more than the 240 on the pop,say 560 or so,but still dont think nut flush draw is going anywhere ,would expect maybe a reraise on there draw, and put you to a decision then.. Iwould definatly played it very different .
I dont know

I obviously wish I did not call the all-in. And of course I knew I have second best flush. What my mind- heart - whatever u want to call-it could not want to believe is that I could have the only hand that can beat me. Also his re-raise - made me suspicious of semi-bluff - or perhaps 2 pairs... which gave more reason for me not to lay down the cards. Somewhere in my mind... I think if I fold every time (EVERY TIME) to such pressure - I get robbed.

I realize there will be some harsh responses to this hand/and my comment - perhaps I need to hear them. Or chuck it off to bad luck, because if I don't I will become the "abused" ?

Vegas im sorry if I came off harsh, was just being honest.
I think it was to early in the tournament to be worried about being pushed around, plenty of time to make up chips.
And you even suspected two pairs ,im not sure this early on I would call off my chips on a draw with top pair.
Although a great draw, still not the nut draw.
And like I mentioned just to early for me to risk my chips like that.

No you did not come off too harsh... I really appreciate you responded :)

I was playing a MTT - way out of my normal buy-in range. In many ways that perhaps makes me more "defensive" in the game... Or makes me feel that "I will be a target that will get pushed around" and maybe that is the base for my mistake.

No-one really knows me - should just play the best I know how - and do not let my "fears" rule.

With all the time that past since the "pain" of it, in retrospect, I was overcompensating for my lack of "experience" at that level. Most certainly should not have called the all-in, there were enough chips - 15 minute blinds to do anything yet in the game. But I will cut myself some slack - and say - dam unlucky that in my "big game" I ran right away into the one and only hand that can beat me. Does not change the fact that I should have folded...but was hard.

Thats way too early IMO but i know what you mean buy playing above normal
entry level (significantly so) and forgetting to play your game that got you there
in the first place...gl in your next chance...

Just as a follow-up... I just won an other $54 ticket.

Sure hope I learned something and that I will not make same mistake - but will try to play MY GAME, when I decide to use the coupon.

Thanks again for the posts!
