well I am always trying out new styles of poker and although almost everyone that is seriouse about poker plays either TAG or LAG styles of play. I am wanting to hear from the others that play alt styles and are succsessfull and profitable. I know a few players myself that make money from alt styles and want to here from players of these styles that do well. Personaly I know a few nit rock players who are consistant winners so I want to hear more from alt style players, why they think their way works, their experiances, and their stratergy if they would like to share.

One perticular live player I know who almost always limps or calls pre flop then plays great post flop play says " before the flop I only know 2 of the 7 cards I will have this is less than half of the knowledge I need, after the flop I know 5 of the 7 and I know where I stand" he is a very strong player and takes down tables.. I think its an interesting theory..

Better play is if you can measure all stiles of play. Agressive , then limp , you must be unreadable to other players. Its hard to play like that , but oponents will never know what you have in hands , do you bluff or not.Sometimes i show my card to players so thry can see i bluff , and sometimes I show nutts . They never know what I have in next hand. My opinion

I "change gears" rather frequently between LAG and TAG; although I am more of a LAGtARd than a nit for sure.
Have to play to your table and frankly how you are running at the time, any momentum behind you etc.
Recognizing and identifying what the current optimum strategy is the best route unless you are a rock/nit.

Totally agree, it depends on the table. If there's lots of action limping is out of the question. If the table is pretty tame, in position, I'll limp with all kinds of hands.

yeah you really have to be unreadable and unpredictable at any given time. so say you pick up aces and you limp and the other players notice every time you limp you have a huge hand so they all fold you have to mix it up a bit and start limping with your marginal hands. do things like this and there will be no pattern to your game and it will really help

I play loose and agro vs nits, calculated vs LAG, careful vs maniacs and so on. My style changes regularly. Doesent mean I am better, but I do try to be aware of whom I am playing against and readjust accordingly.
