any comments on the following hand ?

H: TT
S: 22k
B: 500/1000/100
P: UTG+2

Pre I raise 2200, 3 callers
Flop K 9 3
Check ,check, I bet 5 k, agro player rr 12000

What should the hero do ?

A few considerations/questions:
- If I call, I think I am pretty much pot committed and planning on calling turn and river no matter what comes.
- This villain has a large stack and is a maniac. I have moved to the table about 20 mins ago and he has raised the flop 3 or 4 times.
- Is it worth calling him down here or should I pick a better spot ?
- Should I have cbet the flop like I did or should I have check/called ?

If you're up against I maniac, I like to check raise here WITH the plan B option. The plan B option is to check/fold if he bets a bunch that would commit your whole stack. I think the question is....is it possible he has a suited Kx? What's his range? Has he shown any hands?

If you think he's a maniac, shove it all in.

for starters, its shove or fold. With 22k and a 3k starting pot, you should be shoving preflop with 7-1 pot/stack odds. I would really need a good read that the maniac was indeed strong to fold, any doubt at all and it is time to shove. With tens you only have 2 outs twice to improve at all (another reason to shove preflop here) so there is no point in calling, if you are ahead you shove, if you are behind you fold. With two limpers in front of you, 10's is a good enough hand to shove PF with at that part of the tournament. Closer to the bubble, I like the shove even more. You could pick up a 5k (3k +2limps) pot without a flop.

If he plays like a maniac in most hands he will be bluffing and you need to re-raise him, but remember, he might be a maniac but that doesn't mean that he can't get AA and play it in same style like he is bluffing.

Thanks for all the responses guys.....I called, the hand checked down and he had a K. I was left with about 6 BBs.....which I managed well and ended up winning the whole tourney !

With confidence

In my opinion the best way to play is simply going all in. If you only call, he can improve, but you can't. If you watched him enough you can tell with a good probabelity that he has nothing or a weaker hand than yours. And once you must fight against a maniac before you loose all your stack by the folds. Anyway congratulations to the win!:)
