Another Risk of MultiTasking

Frequently, while playing poker I will try and catch up on my emails.

Last night while doing some keystroke in email I am guessing tab + who knows what.........I found that the keystroke raised my bet in the tournament I was playing.

To be honest this has happened before with some other keystrokes generating other nonintended consequences, Of course sometimes you can luck out and by accident the right thing happens.

Last night dealing with email cost me over half my chips and a possible win ends up with 3rd place.

Two thoughts disable the keystroke mechanisms on your poker sites if you can.

When you get deep in an event concentrate on your play.

I agree more with the end that the beginning. It's usually best to play with as few distractions as possible. But, I do like the distractions at the very beginnings of tournaments when I'm mostly just killing time.

shit happens with everybody man, and I think you can multitask, just disable the keystroke

been there quite a few times, but just happened to me tonight and worked out in my favor, I raised all in when I meant to fold, got 3 callers and won the hand with 96os

It happens, but try to focus only on the game!

Thanks for the tip. I've never had that happen, but often do as you say and catch up email if I'm playing in only 1 game or something. I start getting more serious the deeper I get into the game, or if it's higher stakes.
