Don't you just hate it when your 4 hours deep into a tournament and your super focused, when all of the sudden your mother in law drops by to tell you something, or your girlfriend is stuck in the middle of the road and you have to go pick her up,or the phone rings and you have to start talking to someone and you make a wrong call or shove without thinking out the situation right and you suddenly lose just because of the interruption?

That is like the most annoying thing in the world.

Cause that happens to me alot and im starting to think about playing in super isolation mode, unplugging phones and not answering doors.

Anyone else do that? Like switch off phones when playing?

I don't turn off my phone - but as a father of 3, life is busy! So I play during the day at my own risk of having to be interrupted. But 825pm and after is my time if I decide to play online that night. (8:25 is the start time for Bovada $1k $2.20 game) Once that starts, Im available for 5 mins every hour lol

If your playing for the income, prolly ought to be treating your poker time like a job, if it's a hobby, serious or not, perspective is all.

Yes

This what i have to tolerate, My friend that thinks he is a good player just because he rides my coat tails, no joke it's retarded azz,
He asks for a game micro one table and i think good i need a break and i go make a coffee or feed the cats anything but poker right, and as soon as he gets into a tight spot he ask for my advise i have tried on many occasions to explaining to him that i need all the info available from the first action in the hand in most cases in order to make the correct decision and bet the appropriate amount right,
So this idiot just sits there dumbfounded and mesmerized as the times clocks down and i'am forced to make a bad decision quite often, and you guessed it if i get lucky and win he's a great player but if i lose and yep you guessed it again it's not his fault.
Deal with that 10 times and try and be friendly to your friend it's bloody difficult and you guessed it i'am a nasty piece of work and a bad friend :)

Yep i put on head phones and play music i keep missing companies calling me for job interviews and other things, If i play in long torny's i try and play at a half decent level i think it's just really bad value to spend 4-9 hours on a micro torny imagine how many mini's you could play in that time if you are a good player the larger spread of smaller games should highlight your talents in a more equal way.

Part of the reason I play small stakes online and bigger stakes live.... I almost never get interrupted live.

This is a serious problem with me too. I get distracted from the game all the time and I often bust because of that! I play for fun so it is not that much of a problem most of the time! Ofc there are times when I'm chip leader or in top 3 in a tourney and suddenly I get distracted and bust a few hands before the bubble - now that hurt as hell!
Ah well.. life goes on and another tourney is just around the corner... :smokin:

I think the solution to your problems are simple

1.) Kill your Mother in Law
2.) leave your wife stranded on the road
3.) Don't look at your phone

Answering your phone call, picking up ur girl friend and attending ur mother in law or some other relatives are very important social things of life...Do not neglect these things...I agree these things are a big interruptions to your game and i experience them a lot too...
What i did was i searched a time gap where i have very little chance of being interrupted and in that time i play poker...I advice u to do the same...

It happens to me that someone interrupts my game. This morning I had to go for a while to the mother I managed go back but I lost a lot of chips. I try to only play in the evenings or at night when no one does not bother me ...

I always make time for my kids or grandkids while playing and will sit out for short periods of time, to give them my undivided attention..........I ALWAYS get pocket ACES or KINGS when I sit out, ALWAYS!
