Not JUSt luck. A lot of luck, yes, but you still need some skill.

Your post is way too broad.

Pretty similar to a hyper turbo.

Yes but the odds calculator does not do odds for the hand against any random other hand.

Pre - Internet training like shuffling and dealing out hundreds of hands to your self on the kitchen table. I have done that and found it to be very insightful. Also some times when i get a bad beat and i think i played it well i will set up the hand and maybe the flop and run the turn and river over and over to see what happens its actually fun. Well I think its fun anyway.

The only time you should be looking to shove all-in pre is when your short stacked.

If i remember right they start you out with 100 to 500 chips.
Don't like the do or die MTTs, i thinks its bingo. Which site are they on?
Poker stove is the way to go.

Zero skill, big percent luck - but strategy - that's what you are looking for.

I played one of these and won it (so now I'm an expert).

Be aggressive - it is not easy to call a shove without a great hand. How often do people get a shove worthy hand?

Once you get that initial double up avoid stacks that can take you out (unless you have like AA or KK)- attack those that cannot do mortal damage.

Pay close attention to the hands your opponents are playing as well as if they initiated or were the caller.

I am guessing most times the blinds are not going to be much of a factor as it will be over before that happens.

Kidkevno - I have played them on merge and hyper turbos on bovada. But there is a live one coming up at the casino near me and am really excited to try it live. I am in Colorado so its the golden casinos poker tournament thingy.

Media - thanks this i need to pay more attention to "opponents - initiated or were the caller"

Well with a stack like that and blind levels at 20 minutes you could sit around and wait for Aces or kings. Good luck and let us know how it go's.

Ya you would think a good pair is going to come soon. But the last tournament I played at this place <HPT main> and no pocket pair came the whole time 25k in chips and 4 hours later I was out without ever getting a good hand. So maybe I can win this time..... Will let you know how it goes.

In the first few levels, you're basically just waiting for AA and KK, maybe QQ and AK I would imagine and then as your stack gets shorter, your range should widen.

My advice would be to not play them. Stick to real games where your skill can give you an advantage instead of playing these games of luck.

Push fold is hardly luck....its a great skill to have and by STTs with initial stacks ~ 10bb you can learn a lot about late game /SS play.

Im not too familiar with AI or old in particular though.

Well no luck in this event. Attempted a steal but got called.

Me on the Button with 87s
SB had AK
and BB was a dead stack.

So I figured I could get the SB to fold but he had a good hand. I did have two live cards though.

Board - 563 Turn 5 River Q

Almost got that straight but any 8 or 7 would have been good also.

It had only been about 3 rounds so they were still the starting stack size.

10,000 starting chips

I am to impatient but I figured it for an easy scoop without a show down. Darn my Luck.

Oopsy - first thing is establish yourself as tight, tight, tight. You make those moves early and you're just a guy trying to get lucky or bullying. Someone will step up and meet you.
